Sanchez: My first poker

Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez has never scored four goals in one match before, not even as a child.

The Chile international put on a devastating display against Palermo on Sunday afternoon.

He combined with Antonio Di Natale to record a stunning 7-0 win in Sicily.

"I have never scored four goals in a real game, not even as a kid," Sanchez said.

"The most beautiful goal was the second when I got the ball from Di Natale and thought: 'I'll do a double step over in front of the goalkeeper,' and I did it."

'Udinese follow Barca model'

Udinese director Gino Pozzo insists his club are following the Barcelona model to success.

The Friuli-based outfit stunned everyone on Sunday with a 7-0 win away to Palermo in Serie A.

Udinese have yet to suffer defeat in 2011 and currently lie fifth in the table.

"You define it as phenomenal," Pozzo said. "In reality we have been working in a determined manner for a long time.

Money will decide Sanchez future

Udinese are well aware of the fact that it will be difficult for them to keep hold of Alexis Sanchez in the summer.

The Chilean has been a revelation at the Friuli this term and made the headlines on Sunday with four goals in the 7-0 mauling of Palermo.

Already associated with Inter, Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona before his latest showing, he's likely to be one of Serie A's most wanted in the summer.

Guidolin shares Palermo memories

Francesco Guidolin returns to Palermo, where he was hired and fired three times. “I had wonderful moments here, but now I represent Udinese.”

The Coach had a complex rapport with President Maurizio Zamparini, as the pair argued and made up repeatedly during the four-year spell, often in public.

“I will keep my emotions to myself,” said Guidolin. “Palermo was a great chapter of my career and I had wonderful moments here, getting to know extraordinary people, but now I represent Udinese and this is a match.

Rossi expects Palermo answers

Delio Rossi tells Palermo that the head-to-head with Udinese for European places “must answer some important questions.”

Only four points separate the sides going into the Stadio Barbera this afternoon and it is a test of their continental ambitions.

“It's a game that must answer some important questions,” said the Rosanero tactician.

“I expect a hard-fought encounter, as we are facing a side that plays great football and in excellent shape.

Guidolin consoles 'his' Palermo

Francesco Guidolin was caught between celebrating Udinese's 7-0 triumph and consoling his former Palermo fans.

“At a certain point, we really took our foot off the accelerator,” confessed the Coach against a Rosanero side with nine men.

“The respect I have for Delio Rossi, for Palermo and this city goes well beyond the final result. It was a nasty thrashing for them, but it will pass.

“I believe it is only a bump in the road for the Rosanero, while for us it is proof that we are in great shape.”

Di Natale: 'I rejected Juve for Napoli'

Antonio Di Natale reveals the real reason he turned down Juventus. “It would've been a betrayal to Napoli.”

The Udinese striker was to all intents and purposes sold to Juve over the summer, but terminated the talks by declaring he wanted to stay at the Stadio Friuli.

“Juventus wanted me very strongly, but I never could have accepted,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“In the previous campaign, Napoli had asked for me, but I told President Aurelio De Laurentiis that I did not want to leave Udine.

Pozzo hails intelligent Udinese

Udinese owner Gianpaolo Pozzo feels his side were mature and intelligent to record a 0-0 draw at home to relegation threatened Brescia on Sunday.

The Zebrette were given a dubious penalty only for the referee to change his mind and rule no foul.

It's the first time Udinese haven't scored in 12 games, but they remain in fifth place in Serie A.

"I have seen a mature and intelligent team which didn't throw itself headlong into attack.

Udinese unveil stadium plans

Udinese have unveiled plans for a new English-style Stadio Friuli in 2013. “Either we build the new stadium now, or we go to play elsewhere.”

All clubs in Italy rent their arenas from the local council and cannot use it for conference space or other events during the week.

Juventus are the first to construct a stadium they actually own, but Udinese have announced plans to follow suit.

“We hope the restructuring work can begin in June or at most July,” said President Giampaolo Pozzo.
