Catania general manager Pietro Lo Monaco launched a scathing attack on Milan CEO Marco Fassone. “He knows nothing about football.”

Lo Monaco spoke to Radio Incontro Olympia ahead of Sunday night’s Derby della Madonnina.

“Inter-Milan is a very delicate match, a derby that simply defies prediction,” he said.

There are reports Coach Vincenzo Montella could be fired if he loses this game, having already lost to Lazio, Roma and Sampdoria.

A club legend during his time as a player and already working with the youth system, it looked for all the world that it was Montella’s destiny to one day take the helm, but the capital club repeatedly allowed him to slip through their fingers.

According to ItaSportPress, Catania’s players returned from their 1-1 Lega Pro draw at Reggina to see their personal belongings taken, among them mobile phones and wallets.

It appears the criminals forced open a small window to enter the dressing room, ransacked its contents and ran away with the loot, despite police and steward presence.

Napoli close to free agent Lodi

Napoli are prepared to give free agent and free kick specialist Francesco Lodi a contract.

The transfer window has now closed, but clubs are still allowed to sign players who are out of contract.

Lodi fits that bill and Radio Marte claim Napoli have approached the ex-Catania and Parma midfielder.

The Partenopei tried to sign Roberto Soriano from Sampdoria, but the paperwork was not delivered before the deadline.

It’s believed 31-year-old Lodi could fill that role at least for the next six months.
