Mihajlovic: 'Toro can eliminate Juve'

Sinisa Mihajlovic is confident Torino can knock Juventus out of the Coppa Italia. “In a one-off game we can fight it out with anyone.”

It kicks off on Wednesday at 19.45 GMT and the winners go on to face Napoli or Atalanta in the Semi-Finals.

“We’ve got Daniele Baselli back, as he was suspended against Genoa, but all the others remain on the treatment table, so in defence and attack my choices are rather forced upon me,” the Coach told Rai TGR.

Too much expected of Torino

Sinisa Mihajlovic and his Granata players are accused of underperforming, but Richard Hall notes perhaps the expectations were set too high.

Sinisa Mihajlovic was in buoyant mood before his team lost to Napoli this weekend. He was quick to stress that whatever the result, there was no crisis in his team, regardless of the daily complaints on the front page of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport.

Miha: ‘Stop whistling Niang’

Torino Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic criticises fans for whistling M’Baye Niang - “you can whistle those who don’t commit, but that’s not the case”.

The French forward set up the first goal against Carpi in the Coppa Italia last night, but his form has been poor since joining for Milan and he’s been a target for certain sections of the Granata support.

“Niang did well, I didn’t like the whistles from the fans,” Mihajlovic said in his Press conference after the match.

Miha ‘not satisfied’ with draw

Sinisa Mihajlovic says he is ‘not satisfied’ with Torino’s draw at Milan but is happy with their performance.

The Granata battled to a goalless stalemate at the San Siro, a result which keeps them one point behind today’s opponents.

“I don’t like talking about getting revenge,” Mihajlovic, who was in charge of the Rossoneri between 2015 and 2016, said post-match. “I did as well as I could at Milan.

“I launched the careers of Romagnoli and Donnarumma, Milan have the means to fight until the end.

Mihajlovic deserved better at Milan

Considering how Vincenzo Montella has done this season, Sinisa Mihajlovic deserved better treatment from Milan, argues Matthew Santangelo.

For most of the season, current Milan boss Vincenzo Montella has been heavily scrutinized for the results he has earned, or not earned, after a summer spending spree that saw nearly a dozen fresh faces arrive to San Siro in a €200m squad overhaul.

The ex-Fiorentina Coach should be credited for his efforts during his first season at the club last year, leading the team to an Italian Super Cup victory over Juventus and a return to European competition with a sixth-place finish.
