Report: Lazio turn to James

After losing David Silva to Real Sociedad, Lazio are reportedly preparing to make a move for Real Madrid forward James Rodriguez or bring back Felipe Anderson from West Ham United.

The Spanish playmaker moved on a free transfer from Manchester City to Real Sociedad and left Lazio furious, as the Biancocelesti were sure the 34-year-old was coming to the Olimpico.

Felipe Anderson swap with Lozano?

Napoli could offer Everton transfer target Hirving Lozano as part of the deal for West Ham United striker Felipe Anderson, it’s reported.

Lozano was a huge investment from PSV Eindhoven this season for €38m, but the Mexico international has struggled to break into the starting XI under Carlo Ancelotti or Gennaro Gattuso.

He is widely expected to move on this summer, with Everton known to be interested in his services.

According to the Cronache di Napoli newspaper, a different Premier League club could end up signing Lozano for next season.

Pioli relives Roma nightmares

New Milan coach Stefano Pioli returns to the Olimpico on Sunday, but Vijay Rahaman notes the former Lazio boss has some bad memories of Roma.

Stefano Pioli takes his Milan team to the Stadio Olimpico to face Roma, but his record against the Giallorossi is one that may be of concern.

Overall, the Parma-born coach has a record of just three wins, seven draws and 11 losses versus I Lupi. The situation was even more disconcerting when involved in the Rome Derby, as in charge of Lazio Pioli managed one draw and three defeats. The 54-year-old made his debut on the Milan bench with a disappointing 2-2 draw against Lecce, another team clad in yellow and red, so it seems these colours are like Kryptonite for Pioli.

Anderson: 'Easy' to leave Lazio

Felipe Anderson claims it was an ‘easy’ decision to leave Lazio for West Ham United over the summer.

Anderson became West Ham’s record signing in a deal worth €40m plus bonuses, and the Brazilian winger made it clear he lost his lustre for Lazio.

“Everyone knows that when you have got that title of club-record signing you’re expected to do something different, to do big things,” he told The Daily Mail.

Lazio too reliant on Immobile

Ciro Immobile has found his niche at Lazio, but Alasdair Mackenzie argues the club didn't find suitable back-up when it had the chance.

Igli Tare is often referred to in Italy as the most underrated sporting director on the Peninsula. His eye for emerging talent, out-of-favour stars and cut-price deals has seen the club bring in the likes of Stefan de Vrij, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Ciro Immobile, Luis Alberto and Lucas Leiva for a meagre €34m over the last few summers. To provide some context, that is around €4m shy of the fee Milan handed Porto for Andre Silva’s signature last summer.

Milinkovic the biggest non-mover

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was one of the hottest names on the market this summer, but Susy Campanale wonders if Lazio are right to stick or twist?

Few believed he would remain, considering the rumoured €100m offers pouring in from Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and even Milan. Ultimately, will it be a wise move for all concerned?
