Giampaolo sympathy for Samp players

Sampdoria Coach Marco Giampaolo expressed sympathy for his players after they were beaten by Milan.

The Blucerchiati had the better of a hard-fought match at Luigi Ferraris but slipped to defeat after Carlos Bacca’s late goal for the Rossoneri.

“We gave them minimal chances, apart from at the end when they had a few,” Giampaolo told reporters at his post-match Press conference.

“Although we had some problems, this evening we managed to show our worth on the pitch.”

Three-match ban for Saponara

Empoli midfielder Riccardo Saponara has been handed a three-match ban for his outburst in defeat to Frosinone.

The Italy Under-21 international was shown a straight-red card for dissent in last night’s 2-0 loss, and had to be restrained by teammates after being dismissed.

The Lega Serie A has handed down a three-match ban, both for the “insulting remarks” and the “threatening attitude” which Saponara displayed toward the referee, Marco Guida.

Giampaolo: 'Not the usual Empoli'

Empoli Coach Marco Giampaolo refused to let his players rely on penalty appeals after a home defeat to Atalanta.

Rafael Toloi nodded in a first half corner for the 1-0 result, though the hosts thought they deserved a spot-kick five minutes from time.

“The penalty incident changes nothing, as we have to analyse the performance,” Giampaolo told Sky Sport Italia.

Giampaolo: 'Empoli deserved win'

Marco Giampaolo felt Empoli “improved as time went on and deserved the victory” over Udinese.

The Tuscans got their first victory of the campaign, fighting back for a last-gasp 2-1 win at the Stadio Friuli.

“It’s an important win against a side that was difficult to face, but then I did expect that,” said the Coach.

“We suffered Udinese’s physicality and they made it hard for us to move the ball with any sense of fluidity.”

Mancini highest paid Coach

Inter boss Roberto Mancini is the highest-paid Coach in Serie A, but Milan are paying three different tacticians.

They found that Mancini is the Coach with the biggest wages, earning €4m per season net plus performance-related bonuses.

That is the same sum earned by Italy manager Antonio Conte, although the Azzurri contract is partly paid for by sponsors Puma.
