Galtier: 'No St-Etienne pressure'

Saint-Etienne Coach Christophe Galtier says his side face Lazio in the Europa League under “no pressure”.

Both sides have already qualified for the Last 32, with the Biancocelesti already assured of being group winners.

“We’re privileged to be able to prepare for this match under no pressure,” Galtier admitted in his pre-match Press conference.

Four-match ban for Keita

Lazio’s Keita Balde Diao has been handed a four-match Europa League ban after his red card in the win over Rosenborg.

The Spaniard was dismissed after reacting to a challenge from Pål André Helland, and has already sat out one match.

However, it has today been announced that Keita will be suspended for a further three matches, meaning he will miss the match with Saint-Etienne on Thursday, as well as both legs of Lazio’s Last 32 fixture.

Mauricio: 'I said no to surgery'

Mauricio announced he opted against surgery after breaking his nose in two places, as he wants to be there for Lazio.

The defender sustained the injury during a clash with Robert Beric in a 3-2 Europa League win over Saint-Etienne.

“Unfortunately I had to leave the game after this moment,” wrote Mauricio on Instagram with a picture of his bloody nose.

Galtier: 'St-Etienne deserved more'

Saint-Etienne Coach Christophe Galtier felt his side “certainly deserved more” after a 3-2 defeat to Lazio with nine men.

The French team, currently second in Ligue 1, had taken the lead in Rome before a turnaround.

“My players certainly deserved more, but I am still happy to have seen my team play like this in a European match,” declared Galtier.

Mauricio fractured nose

Lazio defender Mauricio fractured his nose during today’s 3-2 Europa League win over Saint-Etienne.

Robert Beric was sent off at the Stadio Olimpico over that incident, even if it appeared to be accidental.

The Aquile released a statement confirming X-Rays had shown a fracture of the nose.

Over the next 12 hours, medics will evaluate whether to perform surgery to stabilise the fracture.
