Saint-Etienne send Mounier back?

Anthony Mounier could return to Serie A for Atalanta or Crotone just days after Bologna loaned him to Saint-Etienne after a fan revolt.

The attacking midfielder only made the loan move on Friday, but was immediately greeted by protests and angry banners noting “our colours will never be yours.”

It stretches back to an interview Mounier gave some time ago confirming he supported their rivals Olympique Lyonnais and refused to wear a green shirt, as it was the colour representing Saint-Etienne.

Milan miss out on Lacroix?

Milan have reportedly missed out on Leo Lacroix as the Sion defender appears set to join Saint-Etienne.

Lacroix emerged as a late target for Milan in their desperate search for a new centre-back, but Calcionews24 claims they have been ousted by Saint-Etienne, who will sign the player on loan with an obligatory purchase option next summer for €5m.

The 24-year-old has spent his entire career with Sion and represented Switzerland at Under-21 level on three occasions.

Pioli: 'Lazio confidence booster'

Stefano Pioli saw Lazio’s draw at Saint-Etienne as “a confidence-booster and we want to go as far as possible in Europe.”

The Aquile were already qualified top of their group, so the 1-1 result in France was merely to maintain their unbeaten record in the tournament.

“It was a good game and we could’ve won it. There were some good things and it’s a confidence-booster, though a pity that we conceded late on,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
