Race is on for Goretzka

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirms there’s a race for Schalke 04 defender Leon Goretzka, including Juventus.

The centre-back will be a free agent in June and is considering his options for the future.

“Of course Bayern are interested. It would be crazy not to think about a German international whose contract is running down,” Rummenigge told Sky Sports Deutschland.

PSG and Bayern seek Conte

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will be approached by Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich over the summer, claim Sky Sport Italia.

The tactician won the Premier League in his first season, but has since stuttered at Stamford Bridge, finishing second in the Champions League group behind Roma and languishing third domestically after tonight’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal.

A former Juventus and Italy boss, he has been linked with the Milan job – currently held by Gennaro Gattuso after Vincenzo Montella was sacked – and a return to the Nazionale.

Juventus want Can in January

Juventus reportedly want to bring Liverpool’s Emre Can to Turin in January, and could offer €5m-6m.

The German midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season, and is free to talk to other clubs in January.

It’s not thought he’ll sign a new deal at Anfield, and the Bianconeri have been open in their admiration of his talents.

This morning’s Corriere dello Sport notes interest from Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, but believes Juve are in pole position for Can’s signature.

Jose Mourinho is reportedly “confident” he can bring Juventus star Paulo Dybala to Manchester United next season.

La Joya has also been linked with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich for considerably more than the £60m fee quoted by the Daily Star.

His position was put into doubt recently, as he was dropped for three Serie A games in a row – including big title showdowns against Inter and Roma.

Real Madrid

Zinedine Zidane’s side have won the Champions League for the last two years in a row, thrashing Juventus 4-1 in last season’s final.

Douglas Costa comes good for Juve

Juventus have rarely embraced Brazilian players, but Douglas Costa could be an exception, writes Emmet Gates.

Throughout their 120-year history, Juventus have had a somewhat uneasy relationship with Brazilian players.

Cast your mind back to epic failures such as Diego and Felipe Melo, the pair who Alessio Secco banked on bringing the glory days back to Turin at the end of the ‘00s. The mere mention of Brazilian-born Amauri is enough to send Juve fans into a cold sweat and search for an alcohol-laced drink.

CL: Roma’s possible opponents

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are among Roma’s possible Champions League opponents in Monday’s draw.

The Giallorossi topped a group including Chelsea and Atletico Madrid, so will face one of the second-placed sides in the Last 16.

They cannot face fellow Serie A side Juventus, nor group stage opponents Chelsea, so there are six possible opponents for Eusebio Di Francesco’s side.

While Basel, Porto and Sevilla would, on paper, represent winnable ties there are some potential pitfalls for the capital club.
