Napoli 'could remove Insigne armband'

Napoli reportedly have doubts over Lorenzo Insigne’s suitability as captain.

Accorrding to La Repubblica, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is unsure Insigne has the right ‘personality’ to wear the armband.

The captaincy has been put forward as a reason for the attacker’s documented drop in form since the turn of the year.

However, the newspaper stresses De Laurentiis will not intervene directly, only that his opinion could influence Carlo Ancelotti’s thinking.

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has reminded Lorenzo Insigne of what it takes to be a ‘true captain’. “He doesn’t only wear the armband...”

“Insigne doesn’t need to wait for a meeting with me or even a renewal, which will be at most an extension,” he told Corriere dello Sport.
