Insigne: ‘No fear with Udinese’

The Partenopei haven’t won in their last three games, but the Italian international isn’t worried by the trip to face the Zebrette.

“We’ll be fired-up in Udine as always, not least because it hasn’t been easy to get three points lately,” Insigne promised on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

Liverpool €30m for Insigne?

As Barcelona continue to push for Philippe Coutinho, Liverpool look to Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne as his heir.

Coutinho’s stunning performances for Brazil have made him a prime transfer target for Barça, who see the ex-Inter man as an ideal foil for Neymar.

According to Mediaset Premium, Jurgen Klopp has already set his sights on Insigne as a potential replacement.

Insigne is currently in fraught contract negotiations with his hometown club Napoli, who are refusing to double his wages.

Buchel: 'I want Insigne's Italy shirt'

Empoli and Liechtenstein midfielder Marcel Buchel warns Italy “will meet a tough side and I’ll ask Lorenzo Insigne for his jersey.”

The World Cup qualifier kicks off in Vaduz on Saturday at 19.45 GMT.

“The Azzurri will meet a tough side, so we must be more determined and allow them very little leeway,” said Buchel in his Press conference.

“We must focus on being concentrated in defence and keeping a clean sheet, then after that we’ll try to make the most of any counter-attack opportunities.”

Azzurri let loose in Liechtenstein

After sticking with the old regime, Liechtenstein finally let Giampiero Ventura unveil his new-look Azzurri, writes Mina Rzouki.

If Antonio Conte complained of little time to work with his Italy side, then Giampiero Ventura has had even less and is asked to revolutionise the tactics to suit a new generation – all of it while getting results in a very tough World Cup qualifying group. No mean feat.

This is why the upcoming matches against group minnows Liechtenstein and a friendly with Germany finally provide the opportunity for Ventura to take some risks, favouring development over results.

Insigne: 'My reaction was wrong'

Lorenzo Insigne admits his tantrum when substituted against Juventus “was wrong,” but he cleared the air with Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri.

The striker was visibly furious and frustrated when taken off during Saturday’s 2-1 defeat in Turin and Sarri later said he needed to “shut up” in these situations.

There were evidently no hard feelings, as Insigne started tonight’s 1-1 Champions League draw with Besiktas.

Keep it tight with Besiktas

Napoli visit Besiktas in a high-stakes game, writes Andrea Tallarita, but they can be too attacking for their own good.

The fact that it's so much harder to win in Europe than in domestic competitions comes down to the higher level of psychological discipline required in international football. If you're wiping the floor with your opponents at home, then you risk becoming over-confident against rivals of a different breed. And if you're not doing too well in your own backyard, the relentless pace of international competition can do nothing but exacerbate your trouble.
