Benevento buy Insigne Jr

Benevento have officially signed Roberto Insigne – Lorenzo’s brother – from Napoli following his loan spell.

The 25-year-old is a right-sided winger with a strong left foot, the opposite to his sibling.

He scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists in 30 appearances for Benevento this season between Serie B, the promotion play-offs and Coppa Italia.

Le Streghe have now taken up their option to buy and he signed a contract to June 2021.

Tactical Analysis: Sarri's Juventus

Maurizio Sarri wasn’t always a 4-3-3 tactician, as Elio Salerno goes into a deep dive on what form his new-look Juventus will take.

Now that the speculation is finally over, we can begin considering what Maurizio Sarri’s Juventus will actually look like.

It is widely recognised that the outgoing Chelsea boss favours the 4-3-3 formation. It is the system Sarri deployed whilst at Napoli and continued to use during his single season in the Premier League. Juve have regularly used the same shape under Max Allegri, so it would come as no surprise to see their new tactician maintain that set-up. However, stubborn Sarri has not always been married to that ideology.

Report: PSG move for Insigne

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly made an enquiry for Napoli and Italy forward Lorenzo Insigne.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport’s Nicolo Schira, PSG have yet to table a bid for Insigne, whom Napoli value at €100m.

Nonetheless, Schira believes the attacker’s meeting with agent Mino Raiola next week will be ‘decisive’.

That is because the summit would reveal whether the 28-year-old will commit to signing a new contract until 2024, worth €6m a season, or seek a move away.

Our Big Fat Greek Victory

This was as close to a perfect Italy performance as we’ve seen for many years and Giancarlo Rinaldi is relishing the Athens triumph.

If a Coach is measured by his ability to get his more surprising decisions right, Roberto Mancini is definitely a man on the up. There were those who thought this first mildly testing away tie might trip up his resuscitation of the Azzurri. They will have to wait until at least another game to puncture the feel-good factor he has begun to inflate Italian chests.

“I needed a goal, as scoring with this jersey is special. Above all, we needed the three points and now we have to recover our energy, as there is another battle on Tuesday,” Insigne told Rai Sport.

Napoli open to Icardi-Insigne swap?

Roma and Juventus aren’t the only ones targeting Mauro Icardi, as Napoli could use Lorenzo Insigne in a swap for the Inter striker, claims the Corriere dello Sport.

Multiple sources make it clear that new Nerazzurri Coach Antonio Conte does not want Icardi in his squad, considering the former captain toxic for his dressing room atmosphere and without the necessary work-rate for his style of football.
