UEFA confirms spectators at Euro 2020: Rome verdict on April 19

The UEFA has announced the return of spectators during Euro 2020 but four cities, including Rome, must still provide ‘additional information on their plans’.

Currently eight host countries have confirmed capacities of between 25 per cent and 100 per cent for the European Championship, postponed from last summer and rescheduled for this year.

Zaniolo's return postponed

Roma forward Nicolò Zaniolo’s return to the pitch has reportedly been postponed for three to four weeks and the youngster seems set to miss out on Euro 2020.

Zaniolo visited professor Fink in Austria yesterday and Tuttomercatoweb reveals the knee is fine, but still lacks 10 per cent strength compared to the other leg.

The attacking midfielder’s rehabilitation process has been slowed down by the COVID-19 infection and in these days Zaniolo will resume working with the Primavera squad.

FIGC wants to reopen stadium for Euro 2020

The FIGC hopes to bring fans back into stadiums already for the European Championship this summer, with an app to register negativity for coronavirus.

The Italian federation is moving to reopen the Olimipco in Rome for Euro 2020 and according to La Repubblica, an app called ‘Mitiga’ should be launched this week.

The newspaper reports the app will work as a tool to register swab tests and vaccines for ticket holders of the three games at the national stadium.

Andersson: 'Zlatan included for Euro 2020'

Sweden CT Janne Andersson said Zlatan Ibrahimovic ‘will be included in the European Championship’ this summer. ‘I’m really happy he’s here’.

The Swedish national team announced the sensational return of Ibrahimovic to the international stage today and Andersson confirmed he has planned to include the Milan hero in the European Championship this summer.

“We had an excellent conversation when we met in November,” Andersson said at a press conference.

Mancini steps down after Qatar 2022

Italy CT Roberto Mancini has announced he steps down from the position after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and suggested three names to succeed him.

The current CT has helped the Azzurri revive their position in European football and qualified for Euro 2020 with 10 out of 10 wins in the group stage.

The coach has made it known he wants a return to club football after the World Cup in 2022 and told Tiki Taka: “I will no longer be the coach of the national team after the World Cup in Qatar 2022.

“I will return to coaching a club.”

Mancini was sure he could bring Italy back

Boniek: 'Milik must play to reach Euro 2020'

Zbigniew Boniek, the President of the Polish FA, has warned Napoli forward Arek Milik he ‘must play’ regularly to get into Poland’s Euro 2020 squad.

The former Juventus and Roma player, who picked up a Scudetto, two Coppa Italia and the European Cup during his time in Italy, spoke to Radio Anch’io about Milik’s situation in Naples.
