Everton to meet Muriel

Sevilla’s talks with Sampdoria for Luis Muriel have reportedly slowed, so the Colombia international will meet with Everton on Monday.

The Spanish side confirmed this week that negotiations were in progress for the striker.

However, according to Sportitalia, the Blucerchiati are refusing to lower the price-tag of €22m plus €6m in performance-related bonuses, which would meet his €28m release clause.

Bacca agent praises Marseille

Carlos Bacca is open to the “serious and ambitious project” at Olympique Marseille, confirmed the Milan striker’s agent.

The Colombia international is not part of Vincenzo Montella’s plans, but so far he has rejected proposals from West Ham United, Valencia and Besiktas.

A breakthrough is imminent, though, as his representative praised Marseille on RMC radio.

“Ligue 1 has become an attractive league, as more and more clubs are trying to compete with Paris Saint-Germain,” said Sergio Barila.

Should Inter gamble on Muriel?

Luis Muriel is in fine form right now for Sampdoria, but Richard Hall wonders if the inconsistent striker is right for Inter.

Luis Muriel has been nicknamed the ‘Colombian Ronaldo’ for two reasons. One relates to his playing style whilst the other, less flattering, is down to his fluctuating weight. The forward has been in fine form of late and has been touted as one of Serie A’s hottest properties, with Inter showing the most interest. The 25-year-old has his eye on a summer deal, but the Nerazzurri must ask themselves is he a gamble and if so, is it one worth taking?
