Bacca Colombian Player of the Year

Milan striker Carlos Bacca is voted Colombian Player of the Year with Inter’s Jeison Murillo in second place.

Newspaper El Tiempo announced Bacca had won the award as the country’s strongest representative in 2015.

He won the Europa League with Sevilla last season and has already scored eight goals for Milan this term.

The silver medal also went to a player who arrived at San Siro over the summer, namely Inter centre-back Murillo.

They were followed by Sporting Lisbon and ex-River Plate man Teofilo Gutierrez.

Muriel gets Colombia recall

Luis Muriel’s impressive form for Sampdoria has seen him earn a recall for Colombia along with five other Serie A players.

The striker has been called up for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Argentina next week.

There are six players who currently ply their trade in Serie A, though it would’ve been seven had Juventus winger Juan Guillermo Cuadrado not been suspended.

Muriel hadn’t been called by Colombia since the summer, when he missed a penalty in the Copa America quarter-final against Argentina.
