Massimiliano Allegri says Moise Kean wants to earn a spot in the Italy squad for Euro 2024 and expects goals from Federico Chiesa and other strikers who can help Juventus qualify for the Champions League.

Allegri spoke at a press conference on Friday on the eve of a Serie A game against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.

Dusan Vlahovic is suspended, while Arkadiusz Milik is injured. This means Italy international Kean will start for the first time in over three months and will be trying to score for the first time this season.

“I expect a lot. I think he [Kean] has the target of doing well to earn a spot in the Italy squad at the Euros,” Allegri said.

“He should have left [in January], but he stayed and now he is fit. He hasn’t played for a while and surely he will play well tomorrow. He will start.”

Kean was on the verge of joining Atletico Madrid on loan during the January transfer window but remained in Turin after failing medical tests.

Chiesa and Kenan Yildiz are available and one of them will join Kean in the Juventus attack in Rome.

“They are both fit and important players,” said Allegri.

“With the return of Vlahovic and Milik, we’ll need goals to reach our target.”

Lastly, Allegri spoke about Samuel Iling-Junior who impressed during the break with England U21.

“Iling has played regularly this season. He didn’t play much at some point, but he’s always been considered. Like the others, he is going through a growing path, so I am really satisfied,” noted the Old Lady’s boss.
