Official: Lecce sign Vera

Serie A new boys Lecce have officially signed Colombia Under-20 left-back Brayan Vera.

A statement released by Lecce confirms Vera will arrive this afternoon to complete his transfer.

The 20-year-old has 13 caps for Colombia at U20 level and is also capable of playing in central defence.

He joins the freshly-promoted Salentini from Leones FC, who were relegated from the Colombian top flight last season.

Lecce to sign Colombian Vera

Newly-promoted Lecce are expected to sign Colombian 20-year-old talent Brayan Vera this week, as he flies in for a medical.

The left-back is currently playing for Leones FC and has one cap at Under-20 level for his country.

Also able to play in central defence, Sky Sport Italia report Vera will arrive for a medical before signing the contract over the next few days.

Lecce secured their promotion into Serie A by finishing runners-up to Brescia, while Hellas Verona won the play-offs.

Napoli jump in for James

Colombia international James Rodriguez is open to joining Napoli and it’s reported Real Madrid could lower the €42m asking price.

The creative midfielder just returned to base after a two-season loan spell with Bayern Munich and has no room at the Bernabeu.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, James is the number one transfer target for the summer, as requested by Carlo Ancelotti.

The Coach already worked with him at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

Napoli step up James Rodriguez talks

Napoli are said to be in negotiations with Real Madrid to take James Rodriguez on loan with option to buy after his Bayern Munich spell.

According to Spanish paper As and Il Mattino in Italy, the player told Carlo Ancelotti that he would be very eager to make the move to the Stadio San Paolo.

Agent Jorge Mendes is already working on the terms of the deal, as James has no place at Real Madrid, even after his two-year loan with Bayern Munich at a cost of €13m.

The Germans had an option to buy for €42m, but have no intention of activating it.

Napoli let Ospina leave

Napoli goalkeeper David Ospina has been given permission to return to Colombia, but there could be repercussions for Arsenal.

A statement on the club website confirmed the shot-stopper had been given a few days off for family reasons and will therefore miss this weekend’s Serie A game against SPAL.

No further details will be given in order to respect his privacy and it’s not clear when he’ll return.

James Rodriguez 'would like Napoli'

“James Rodriguez would like to play in Italy and of course at Napoli,” revealed the Bayern Munich and Colombia star’s father-in-law, Hernan Ospina.

James played under Ancelotti at both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich and has scored seven times in 25 games this season for the German giants.

“My daughter Daniela told me that he has a great relationship with Carlo Ancelotti and would be happy to reunite with him,” Ospina told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

Ospina 'CAT scan clear'

Napoli confirm David Ospina’s CAT scan was clear and he did not lose consciousness, but had a “hypotensive crisis” following the head injury.

The goalkeeper received treatment for a knock to the head after a collision with Ignacio Pussetto just a few minutes into the 4-2 Serie A victory over Udinese.

Around 40 minutes later, he suddenly collapsed and seemed to be barely conscious.

He was taken to the hospital, which is only 1km from the stadium, and given a CAT scan.

Head injury scare for Ospina

Napoli goalkeeper David Ospina has been taken to hospital after he seemed to collapse unconscious following a head injury.

The Colombia international received treatment for the knock to the head in a collision with Udinese forward Ignacio Pussetto during the opening minutes of the game at the Stadio San Paolo.

He had a cut to his forehead and insisted on continuing, even though Alex Meret warmed up and was ready to step in.

Serie A trio get Colombia calls

Duvan Zapata, Luis Muriel and David Ospina are the Serie A representatives in the Colombia squad to face Japan and South Korea.

Coach Carlos Queiroz called up 22 players for the two friendlies later this month, including three who ply their trade in Serie A.

Napoli goalkeeper Ospina is a regular, while Muriel has rediscovered his form since joining Fiorentina in January, scoring eight goals in 11 competitive games for the club.
