Probable line-ups: Lazio-Bologna

Lazio are set to hand a debut to goalkeeper Guido Guerrieri against Bologna in Serie A this evening.

Guerrieri turned 23 in February but will finally get his chance between the sticks, having helped Lazio’s Primavera side win two Coppa Italia and Supercoppa between 2013 and 2015.

Simone Inzaghi has also called up Italy Under-19 defender Nicolo Armini, who has already debuted in the Europa League.

The Aquile have nothing else to play for this season after already qualifying for the 2019-20 Europa League group stage through winning the Coppa.

Serie A Week 38 dates & times

Serie A has confirmed that Atalanta, Inter, Milan and Roma will all play for Champions League qualification at the same time this Sunday.

In the interests of fairness, Atalanta-Sassuolo, Inter-Empoli, Roma-Parma and SPAL-Milan will all take place at 19:30 BST on May 26.

The same applies to games involving Udinese, Empoli, Fiorentina and Genoa, all of whom will be fighting to stay up.

The FIGC has also confirmed that Bologna-Napoli will also be played at that time if the Rossoblu fail to get the point they need against Lazio on Monday.

Carrasco ready for Europe return

Yannick Carrasco has put Serie A clubs on red alert after confirming that he is ready to return to Europe this summer.

Carrasco has spent the past 18 months playing for Chinese club Dalian Yifang, where he is a teammate of former Napoli captain Marek Hamsik.

However, the winger was heavily linked with the likes of Milan and Inter in January, as well as Premier League side Arsenal.

Ancelotti: Two more years

Carlo Ancelotti says he is ready to honour the remaining two years on his Napoli contract. “I’m happy to be here.”

Some reports claimed last week that Cristiano Ronaldo had asked Juventus to bring back Ancelotti as a replacement for Max Allegri, but the 59-year-old made it clear he would not walk out on Napoli.

“I have a clause on May 30, and I hope Napoli will exercise it,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Mazzarri: All credit to Empoli

Walter Mazzarri did not ‘expect’ Torino to be thrashed 4-1 by Empoli but admits the Tuscans were fully deserving of their win.

As well as boosting Empoli’s hopes of another season in Serie A, the result leaves Toro relying on Lazio to finish in the top six if they are to qualify for the Europa League as the seventh-placed team.

“We didn’t start well, but we have to give credit to Empoli. They have beaten some big teams at their ground,” Mazzarri said after the game.

OR

They win (except if they finish level with Udinese and Fiorentina, in which case they must win by two clear goals)
