Report: Sarri’s Napoli warning

Maurizio Sarri reportedly warned his Napoli players ‘not to lose sight’ of their Scudetto objective, despite beating Juventus last weekend.

Napoli moved a point behind Juventus at the top of Serie A after their 1-0 win and have arguably the easier run-in, but Il Mattino reports Sarri made an impassioned plea to his team during training on Monday.

“It wasn’t impossible before, but this doesn’t mean that everything’s become possible and easy,” the Coach is quoted as telling his players.

Moratti plays down Juve rivalry

Massimo Moratti has played down the rivalry between Inter and Juventus ahead of Saturday’s clash as a Nerazzurri win ‘only matters’ for the Champions League.

Victory for Inter, coupled with a Napoli win at Fiorentina, would see the Partenopei topple Juve with only three games remaining, but Moratti made it clear the Beneamata were only thinking about a top-four finish in Serie A.

“Inter seem okay to me, even if the results haven’t always arrived,” the club’s former President told Corriere dello Sport.

Dzeko: Much better than City

Edin Dzeko accepts he gave up ‘the best League in the world’ for Roma but insists ‘I’m a much better player now than I was at Manchester City’.

Dzeko scored 72 goals in 189 games for City, winning two Premier League titles, but failed to venture beyond the Champions League last 16 during his time at the Etihad Stadium.

The striker went on to join Roma in 2015 and has gone on to break new ground in Italy, setting up a semi-final with Liverpool after firing the Giallorossi past Barcelona.

‘Uncertainty benefits Serie A’

Inter boss Luciano Spalletti believes the ‘uncertainty’ of who will qualify for the Champions League ‘benefits everyone’ in Serie A.

The battle for second and third place in Serie A will go down to the wire, with only a point separating Roma, Lazio and Inter ahead of the final four rounds of fixtures.

“The fixture list doesn’t matter,” the Coach told RMC Sport.

“We must have the character to enjoy this type of uncertainty because those who have this quality are waiting to enjoy Sunday’s game.

Ausilio: Why Inter need CL…

Piero Ausilio admits Inter can only keep Joao Cancelo if they qualify for the Champions League.

Cancelo has grown into one of Inter’s most important players after an injury-hit start to his loan spell from Valencia, but the Nerazzurri must shell out €35m to purchase the right-back.

“Karamoh? He’s a young lad and needed more time than others to impose himself,” the sporting director told Radio Anch’io Sport.
