Atalanta sanctioned for Koulibaly chants

Atalanta have been given a one-match closure of the Curva Nord Pisani for racist chanting against Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, but the sentence is suspended for one year.

The centre-back was subjected to the racist chanting in Sunday’s win at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia.

It was also alleged that a bottle was thrown at him, but today’s disciplinary report has only sanctioned the Orobici for the racism offences.

‘Roma can live without Dzeko’

Sampdoria boss Marco Giampaolo insists Roma can live without Edin Dzeko. “They have a very good squad, which can handle these situations.”

Talk of Dzeko leaving for Chelsea has overshadowed Roma’s preparation for their trip to Samp on Wednesday, but Giampaolo refused to believe the Giallorossi would be any weaker.

“Before the game against Fiorentina, I asked them to train without pressure or setting objectives, and we’ll have to do the same again tomorrow,” he said at a Press conference.
