Serie A Week 18-22 fixtures

Lega Serie A has confirmed the dates and times for Week 18-22 fixtures, among them Napoli clashes with Juventus and Inter, plus the Rome derby.

Serie A sides will resume playing on January 5 this season after it was decided to revert to the traditional winter break, the League having experimented with games over Christmas for the first time ever in 2018-19.

Gattuso 'all set for Napoli'

In a sudden development, it is now claimed Napoli will appoint former Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso as early as this week.

CalcioNapoli24 reporter Ciro Venerato claims Gattuso “will be the new Napoli coach from Wednesday”, replacing the beleaguered Carlo Ancelotti.

Venerato explains how super-agent Jorge Mendes has been working as an intermediary to negotiate a deal between the 41-year-old and club President Aurelio De Laurentiis.

Gattuso to meet with ADL?

Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis will reportedly meet Gennaro Gattuso later, as Carlo Ancelotti struggles to turn things around at San Paolo.

Tuttosport claims Gattuso is scheduled to hold face-to-face talks with Partenopei President in Rome today.

Napoli are seventh in Serie A after 15 games and just 21 points and have gone nine games without a win.

This has sparked rumours about the former Milan boss possibly replacing Ancelotti, his mentor at San Siro.

Lotito: 'No need to intervene'

Claudio Lotito has challenged Lazio to keep going with “humility, sacrifice, determination and competitive fury” after they beat Juventus 3-1.

Lazio recorded their seventh straight win in Serie A on Sunday, and Lotito believes his style of presidency is helping them deliver results on the pitch.

“The team has a very good athletic and competitive condition,” he told Tiki Taka.

Rog: 'Cagliari never give up'

Marko Rog says Cagliari “never give up” after they came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Sassuolo.

Sassuolo looked to be in a comfortable position at half-time, but Cagliari eventually came away with a point and Rog revealed what changed at the break.

“We never stopped believing,” the midfielder told Tuttomercatoweb. “We suffered too much during the first half.

“At the break, in the dressing room, we said we would give our all to come back and we succeeded.”

Quagliarella: 'Let Samp down'

An “upset” Fabio Quagliarella feels he let Sampdoria down after he missed a penalty against Parma on Sunday.

The club captain had the opportunity to equalise from the penalty spot in the 77th minute but fluffed his lines as the Blucerchiati went on to lose 1-0.

“As captain, I have an important responsibility, I am upset,” Quagliarella told Sky Sport Italia.

“I took the important penalty very poorly. Every penalty is a burden, unfortunately I didn’t hit it like I should’ve and I take the blame.

Report: Palace go for Borini

Crystal Palace have reportedly been testing the waters at Milan regarding a loan deal for Fabio Borini this winter.

Evening Standard claims Palace boss Roy Hodgson has sounded out the 28-year-old as a target for January.

The newspaper writes that the Eagles will try to take the forward on loan, particularly given he qualifies as a homegrown player.

He moved to London at the age of 16, signing for Chelsea, and moved to Milan in 2017 after later spells at Liverpool, Sunderland and Swansea City.
