Cairo: 'I understand the fans'

President Urbano Cairo has said that he can “understand” the angry Torino fans and expected a “completely different season, with better results”.

After another disappointing weekend, ending in a 4-0 defeat to Lecce, Cairo has been put under a huge amount of pressure by the Granata faithful.

Chiellini back in training

Juventus have confirmed that Giorgio Chiellini has returned to train “partially, but with the group” at the JTC.

The Bianconeri captain injured his knee during the first game of the season and has been out since August with a ruptured ACL.

But the Old Lady could confirm that the Italy international has returned to the sessions with the rest of his teammates.

“Giorgio Chiellini returned to work, partitally, but together with the group,” the club wrote on in a statement.

Prade reveals why Amrabat chose Viola

Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has revealed why Hellas Verona's Sofyan Amrabat chose the Artemio Franchi as his next destination.

Amrabat seemed like he would move from Verona to Napoli this summer, but after three intense days, Fiorentina signed the Morocco international, who only arrived in Serie A last summer.

Prade said it all started from a conversation after the match between Fiorentina and Verona, leading to a €20m deal taking place after the current season.

Sensi: 'Eriksen can lift Inter'

Stefano Sensi has claimed Christian Eriksen’s arrival “can lift” Inter ahead of the derby against Milan on Sunday.

Inter are currently three points behind Juventus in the title race and Sensi has claimed the Denmark international Eriksen could give the team a boost.

“We will do our best to keep up with Juventus,” Sensi told Sky Sport Italia. “Lazio are also doing well. We work to evict our mistakes and to score points.”

Haraslin: 'I can play both sides'

Lukas Haraslin has revealed the directors convinced him of moving to “a young and strong” Sassuolo.

The 23-year-old has arrived on loan with an obligation to buy from Lechia Gdansk after contributing two goals and four assists from 18 games in Ekstraklasa this term.

The Slovakia international admitted the chairman Giovanni Carnevali and director Francesco Palmieri sold him the project at the MAPEI Stadium.

Zeman: 'Not looking to offend women'

Zdenek Zeman has claimed he never intended to offend women after being criticised for his comment on the growth of women’s football.

In an interview with Tuttomercatoweb, the former Roma and Lazio coach showed some rather antiquated views when asked on his opinion about women’s football in Italy.

He defended his own words and has claimed he was only pointing towards the reason for it growing slower in Italy.

Saelemaekers: 'Dream come true'

Alexis Saelemaekers has vowed to “prove myself” at Milan and said “it’s a dream come true” to be playing at San Siro.

The Belgian arrived from Anderlecht on deadline day and came off the bench against Hellas Verona last weekend.

“It was an incredibly important moment for me on Sunday,” he told at a press conference. “There’s no doubt about that.

“It’s a dream that has come true for me and having been able to play last Sunday was fantastic.”

Official: Udinese pick up Prodl

Udinese have officially signed a contract until June 2021 with Sebastian Prodl after the Austrian had been released by Watford.

The 32-year-old centre-back comes on a free transfer and is ready for his first stint in Italian football, after terminating his previous contract with the Hornets.

The Friuli released a statement confirming the player has arrived on contract until June 2021.

Serie A: One game for Pellegrini

Serie A announced that ten players are suspended for the upcoming fixtures this weekend, including Napoli’s Eljif Elmas and Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Eljif Elmas will miss the next match at the San Paolo against Lecce after picking up a yellow against Sampdoria on Monday night.

Lorenzo Pellegrini was sent off for two bookable offences in Giallorossi’s 4-2 defeat to Sassuolo last weekend and will miss the next game against Bologna.

Longo: 'I know the fans'

New Torino coach Moreno Longo has pledged to reconnect with the fans at the Grande Torino and insisted he knows "how much they can help the players".

Walter Mazzarri left the club by mutual consent earlier today and Longo was swiftly announced as his replacement when all the bureaucracy had been dealt with.

He was unveiled today and told the reporters that he will be looking to change the Granata’s mentality and “approach” the future with “courage and self-esteem”.
