'Irritated' Immobile has medical tests cancelled

'Irritated' Ciro Immobile was supposed to have a medical examination today after recovering from Covid but several reports in Italy claim the tests were cancelled as the player hasn't received the all-clear by the local health authority.

The 2020 Golden Boot was supposed to have a medical examination at Rome’s Clinica Paideia this morning but according to Il Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport Immobile didn’t show up and the tests were cancelled.

Serie A Week 8 Referees

The referees for Serie A Week 8 have been announced and the AIA has given Napoli-Milan to Paolo Valeri while Fabio Maresca has been appointed for Juventus-Cagliari.

The Bianconeri face Eusebio Di Francesco’s side on Saturday evening. Maurizio Mariani will be the VAR referee at the Allianz Stadium.

Inter play on Sunday at 2pm UK time with Federico La Penna who will oversee the game and Rosario Abisso as the VAR referee.

Paolo Valeri will referee the Sunday evening big match Napoli-Milan.

Roma: Smalling suffers food poisoning

Chris Smalling didn’t train with Roma due to severe food poisoning and the English defender is uncertain ahead of the match against Parma.

The Giallorossi revealed the centre-back has suffered severe food poisoning and now has only three days to get back in shape for Sunday’s match.

Smalling, who returned on a permanent deal on transfer deadline day, did individual work due to the problem but according to Sky Sport, the former Manchester United defender should be fit to play on Sunday.

Faggiano: 'We'll find a solution for Rovella'

Genoa director Daniele Faggiano revealed the Rossoblu intend to kee Nicolò Rovella for the rest of the season, amid links with Inter, Roma and Juventus.

The Grifone midfielder, who turns 19 in December, has been targeted by the giants in Serie A after his five League matches this term.

His contract in Liguria expires in June 2021 and he could discuss with other clubs in January and Genoa could have to cash in on the defensive midfielder this winter or risk losing him on a free transfer in July.

Lazio: Milinkovic-Savic positive for COVID

The Serbian FA announced Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has tested positive for COVID-19.

Ahead of the match against Russia, three players tested positive for coronavirus in the Serbian national team, including Darko Lazovic from Hellas Verona and Milinkovic-Savic of Lazio.

Inter defender Aleksandar Kolarov withdrew from the squad and returned to Italy but has later tested positive for COVID-19.

Kolarov the ninth positive at Inter

Aleksandar Kolarov is the ninth Inter player to contract COVID-19, as he returned from Serbia with a muscle injury and later learned he tested positive.

The left-back was already uncertain for the match against Torino on Sunday due to a muscle injury which led to his withdrawal from the Serbia squad.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Kolarov received some bad news when he returned to Italy, as the test results at Pinetina ruled him out for the upcoming games and placed him in isolation.

Sassuolo: Haraslin recovered from COVID

Sassuolo have announced winger Lukas Haraslin has recovered from coronavirus and will return to the group today.

The 24-year-old Neroverdi player tested negative for COVID-19 and has gone through the required medical checks to complete his return to training.

“Sassuolo Calcio Sports Union announce that Lukas Haraslin has carried out a diagnostic test (swab) for coronavirus and the result came back negative,” the club wrote.

Roma: Dzeko still positive for COVID

Roma forward Edin Dzeko is still positive for coronavirus and could miss the match against Parma, according to news agency ANSA.

The report from ANSA reveals the Bosnian has a low viral load, but the positive result is still there and he will be subjected to a new test in the next few hours.

Dzeko has scored three goals in five Serie A games this term but missed the 3-1 win against Genoa ahead of the current international break due to COVID-19.

Pobega: 'I want Milan return'

Spezia midfielder Tommaso Pobega admitted he followed Juventus as a child but stressed he ‘wants a return’ to Milan. ‘They’re a great team’.

The Rossoneri extended Pobega’s contract until June 2025 in June, as he returned from an excellent loan spell in Serie B with Pordenone.

He was soon loaned out to gain further first-team experience at Spezia in Serie A and has helped the newly promoted side pick up eight points from their seven first matches.
