Lecce President Saverio Sticchi Daminani has claimed the current financial crisis in football ‘can’t only weigh on the players’.

Extreme idea: Serie A all in Rome?

An extreme plan has been floated which would see all the remaining Serie A games played and teams hosted in the Rome area, which has been less hit by the coronavirus pandemic.

The league ground to a halt due to the crisis and there are several options for resumption, including start dates on May 20, May 28 or even in June.

According to La Repubblica, there is also a more extreme solution which would see all 20 teams camped out in and around the Rome area, playing their games there too to minimise travel and contact with those outside the club.
