Sarri: 'Atalanta are painful!'

Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri says he is in agreement with Pep Guardiola’s assessment, that facing Atalanta is like a trip to the dentist.

Atalanta held Manchester City to a 1-1 draw in the Champions League earlier in November, and captain Alejandro Gomez claimed to have been told by Guardiola that he did not enjoy the game.

“To call Atalanta ‘annoying’ is an understatement,” Sarri said before Juve’s match in Bergamo tomorrow.

Sarri: 'Ronaldo left to cool off'

Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will miss tomorrow’s match against Atalanta. “Certain players need to be left to cool off.”

Ronaldos fitness has come under the spotlight after Sarri alleged he was nursing a knee injury, yet he scored for Portugal during the international break and denied there was anything wrong with him.

The pair have since come back in contact and the former Napoli boss made it clear he had no reason to sit down with his No 7.

Cellino: 'Balotelli no longer smiling'

Brescia President Massimo Cellino admits Mario Balotelli “hasn’t been smiling since Verona” after he controversially walked out of training yesterday.

Balotelli was involved in an alleged bust-up with Brescia boss Fabio Grosso, who told the striker to leave, having understood to be less than impressed with his attitude.

“I wasn’t there,” Cellino told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Lecce midfielder Marco Mancosu has confessed that facing hometown club Cagliari this weekend will be “a dream come true”.

Instead, he has battled through the lower Leagues and only now has the chance of proving his former paymasters wrong.

“Until a few years ago, it was unthinkable for me to play the Sardinians in a League match. Now it’s a dream come true” Mancosu said at a Press conference.

Milan & Napoli argue who's worst

Milan host Napoli in the pick of Week 13’s Serie A fixtures, but the stats are bleaker than ever going into the encounter.

With Milan 14th in Serie A on 13 points and Napoli in seventh with 19 points, these two clubs haven’t had a worse combined tally after 12 games since the latter bounced back from Serie B in 2007.

The Rossoneri come into the match without a win from their last four matches against Napoli at San Siro, and that record is backed up by three losses in five home fixtures this season.

Verona stadium ban suspended

Verona’s partial stadium ban for racially abusing Brescia striker Mario Balotelli has been officially suspended.

The FIGC’s disciplinary commission initially ordered Verona to host Fiorentina on Sunday with the Poltrone Est sector of its curva closed.

It came after fans from that part of the Bentegodi stadium were heard chanting monkey noises at Balotelli during their side’s 2-1 win against Brescia on November 3.

Kean: 'I made a mistake'

Everton forward Moise Kean admits he “made a mistake” and insists he is ready to move on and fight for his place in the Premier League.

The Italy international has been linked with a move back to Serie A after a tough start to life at Goodison Park. He has lately been punished for tardiness, as he was dropped by both club and national team.

The former Juventus starlet bounced back with a brace for the Azzurrini against Armenia, and is now looking to do the same at Everton.

Ribery still out for Fiorentina?

Franck Ribery is considered a doubt for Fiorentina’s next game against Verona on Sunday.

Ribery has missed Fiorentina’s last three games through suspension, but his return to competitive action may yet be delayed.

That is because, as per Radio Bruno Toscana, the former Bayern Munich winger failed to train today due to fever.

Therefore, the 36-year-old could sit out the fourth consecutive matchday.

Ribery, a summer arrival from Bayern, has scored two goals and assisted as many in nine Serie A appearances this season.
