Sensi: 'I dream of winning with Inter'

Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi points to an ‘excellent relationship’ with coach Antonio Conte and claims he doesn’t feel threatened by Christian Eriksen’s arrival.

The former Sassuolo star arrived last summer and has been through a difficult first season at San Siro, limited by injuries and now the forced break in Serie A due to the coronavirus emergency.

But the Italy international has claimed that he ‘struggles’ to focus on football but tries to keep in shape at home.

Stars urged to cover Serie C wages

There are discussions for a ‘solidarity fund’ created from docking the wages of some Serie A and B players to help cover salaries of Serie C squads.

Calls are growing every day for professional football players to accept a pay cut and prevent non-playing staff from being furloughed or even sacked.

However, the Lega Serie C/Lega Pro would point out only a small percentage of professional football players are so rich as to afford such a luxury.

Tommasi: 'Player wages not a priority'

Players’ Association President Damiano Tommasi insists cutting wages is “not a priority” right now, but rather a protocol for returning to duty and dealing with contracts if the season goes beyond June 30.

The Lega Serie A and AIC (Players’ Association) are discussing the idea of cutting salaries during the coronavirus lockdown, as Juventus and reportedly also Inter have already agreed to forego some of their wages.

Minister: 'Plan for Serie A in May'

Minister for Sport Vincenzo Spadafora announced there is “an extraordinary plan for sport to resume from May,” as Italy eye an easing of lockdown measures due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The lockdown has been extended to Easter Monday, April 13, with a new Government decree last night banning training in facilities even for professional athletes.

It does still fit in with FIGC President Gabriele Gravina’s comments that Serie A is hoping to resume from May 20.

Belgium crown Club Brugge early champions

The Jupiler Pro League in Belgium has become the first major European competition to assign a winner, terminating the season early due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Their tournament was suspended on April 30 and, although Belgium is by no means one of the hardest hit areas in this pandemic, they have decided it won’t be possible to resume the 2019-20 campaign.

Club Brugge have therefore been named champions of Belgium, although in fairness they were only one game away from concluding the regular phase.

Agent: 'Musacchio shouldn't be third in line'

Agent Marcelo Lombilia has revealed that Mateo Musacchio was not happy to learn that he has lost his place in the side after having sacrificed himself for Milan.

The centre-half has appeared 18 times in Serie A this term but was replaced by Simon Kjaer in January, when Milan brought in the Denmark international whilst Musacchio was out injured with a bruised ankle.

Since the arrival of Kjaer on January 13, Musacchio has only played 106 minutes in total and had to accept a place on the bench, something his agent claims to be 'unfair'.
