Romagnoli: 'Important win'

Alessio Romagnoli encouraged his Milan teammates to “take one game at a time” after an “important” win against Torino on Monday night.

Milan are now tied with sixth-placed Hellas Verona in Serie A, but are currently behind them and Parma on goal difference.

The captain only wants to look ahead after the 1-0 win against the Granata at San Siro and revealed he felt the Rossoneri “dropped a bit” after the break.

Agent: 'Ancelotti destroyed Hysaj'

Agent Mario Giuffredi has claimed Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj lost his confidence under former coach Carlo Ancelotti. “He destroyed his self-esteem”.

The Albania international struggled to establish himself in the starting line-up under the 60-year-old but has revived under his successor Gennaro Gattuso and featured nine times since Ancelotti left Naples.

Ancelotti left his position as head coach of the Partenopei in December last year and has since taken charge of Everton in the Premier League.

Gabbia: 'My grandparents will be happy'

Milan defender Matteo Gabbia enjoyed his Serie A debut in the 1-0 win against Torino on Monday night and thanked his teammates for the support.

The 20-year-old defender came on when Simon Kjaer had to be substituted before the break, but claimed he remained “calm” when called upon by coach Stefano Pioli.

Gabbia had only played eight minutes in the Coppa Italia previously, but now he is looking ahead and hopes to be involved against Fiorentina at the weekend.

Hysaj suffers knee injury

Napoli have confirmed that Elseid Hysaj has undergone tests to reveal a “distraction” of the “collateral ligament”, sustaining the injury against Cagliari.

The full-back had to come off towards the end at the Sardegna Arena on Sunday and Napoli have now announced that he has a distraction in his right knee.

Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero try to calm the reports regarding internal issues among the board members after the resignation of his deputy Paolo Fiorentino.

The Vice-President decided to step down from his role on the board of the Blucerchiati, but Ferrero has claimed that there are no reasons to be concerned and all the noise around the club has come from “nothing”.

Sanabria: 'Nicola gave me confidence'

Antonio Sanabria has said the “trust and confidence” from coach Davide Nicola has helped him become more productive at Genoa.

The Paraguay international has scored all his three Serie A goals in 2020, after Nicola replaced Thiago Motta at the Marassi.

“I think we are seeing a more aggressive and confident Sanabria,” he told Genoa Channel. “That’s what the coach wants from me, to try to help the team and sooner or later the goals will come.

Locatelli has 'big ambitions'

Manuel Locatelli has admitted that his “ambitions” are to play for one of the “great teams” but is adamant about working hard to earn his place at Sassuolo.

The midfielder moved permanently to the MAPEI Stadium ahead of this season, when the Neroverdi paid €10m for the 22-year-old after a successful stint on loan last season.

Locatelli has a lot of “confidence” after playing 19 games in the League this term and feels like he is “growing” under coach Roberto De Zerbi.

Maran: 'Expectations too high'

Cagliari coach Rolando Maran has blamed the “high expectations” for having a “negative impact” on his side after another defeat to Napoli on Sunday.

The Rossoblu have fallen from grace after a quick start off the blocks this term and are now 11th in the League after 24 games.

During the first half of the campaign, they were as high as fourth at one point and Maran said the difficult period has been “lasting for too long” after the 1-0 defeat to Napoli at the Sardegna Arena.
