Vieira new option for Milan

Nice boss Patrick Vieira has emerged as another new contender to replace Gennaro Gattuso at Milan next season.

According to Rai Sport, the Rossoneri have set their sights on the Frenchman, even if Eusebio Di Francesco remains the favourite.

The 42-year-old tactician is certainly no stranger to Serie A, having played for Milan in 1995-96, then Juventus in 2005-06 and Inter until January 2010.

His management career began in the Manchester City youth academy, moving on to NYCFC in MLS and since this season Ligue 1 club Nice.

Saint-Maximin: 'Ready for Milan'

Nice winger Allan Saint-Maximin admits he feels “ready to step up and join a more prestigious side. Milan are certainly a big club.”

The 22-year-old had already been very close to the Rossoneri in January and is reported to be on top of director Leonardo’s wish-list.

“I certainly feel ready to step up and join a more prestigious side, but for now I am content at Nice,” Saint-Maximin told Gazzetta TV.

Drogba: 'I told Balotelli to join Marseille'

Didier Drogba reveals he urged Mario Balotelli to join Olympique Marseille. “I told him it’s a club that will be good for you.”

The Italy international made the move from Nice in January and has made a sensational impact, scoring five goals in seven competitive games.

“I am very happy for Balotelli, especially because we talked about it for a while before he went there,” Drogba explained to the Ligue 1 site.

Vieira takes Balotelli swipe

Patrick Vieira took a swipe at Mario Balotelli after the striker’s Olympique Marseille winner against former club Nice. “He was rather non-existent…”

Balotelli became the first Marseille player in 45 years to score in four consecutive home games as his side beat Vieira’s Nice 1-0 on Sunday.

“He scored and that’s good for Marseille,” the Coach said after the game, RMC Sport reports.

“My defenders did very well but, that aside, our lack of attention on Mario hurt us a lot.

Balotelli: 'Marseille just like Napoli'

Mario Balotelli said he would “like to stay at Olympique Marseille” and “the only Italian club I could play for would be Napoli.”

The Italy international has made a spectacular start to his time at the Stade Velodrome since the January transfer from Nice, scoring four goals in just six games.

“The fact of the matter is that my contract expires at the end of this season and after that, we’ll discuss it,” SuperMario told La Provence newspaper.

Garcia: 'Balotelli opposite of expectations'

Olympique Marseille Coach Rudi Garcia admits he “used to tell my Roma players to provoke Mario Balotelli, but he’s the opposite of what I thought.”

Garcia fought hard to bring SuperMario to Marseille from Nice in the January transfer window and so far the gamble is paying off, as he scored three goals in five games.

“Balotelli is wise now and pretty well-balanced,” said Garcia in his Press conference.

Milan target Saint-Maximin and Everton

Milan continue to seek attacking wingers for next season, reportedly targeting Allan Saint-Maximin of Nice and Gremio’s Everton.

According to Tuttosport and Sport Mediaset, the Rossoneri have made the expansion of their wide options a priority for the summer.

Saint-Maximin was also linked in January and remains a consistent target for director Leonardo.

He turns 22 later this month and so far this season contributed six goals and three assists in 23 Ligue 1 matches.

The asking price is believed to be in the region of €30m.

Nice punish Milan target

Nice have punished Allan Saint-Maximin after the Milan target pulled out of their Ligue 1 defeat to Angers on Saturday.

Nice boss Patrick Vieira hit out at Saint-Maximin, claiming the winger refused to take part in the 3-0 loss to Angers.

That prompted the 21-year-old to hit back at Vieira and post a cryptic message on Instagram.

“Last weekend, Allan Saint-Maximin missed the trip to Angers,” began a Press release on the French club’s official website.

Milan target Allan Saint-Maximin is seemingly at war with Nice after pulling out of their Ligue 1 match against Angers on Saturday.

Nice boss Patrick Vieira hit out at Saint-Maximin, claiming the winger refused to take part in the side’s 3-0 defeat to Angers.

“Saint-Maximin decided he was sick. I’m disappointed that he didn’t participate in the trip,” Vieira said after the game.

“It was his decision, not mine or the doctor’s. He had absolutely no fever, like he said. It’s hugely disappointing.”
