Castagne: 'Should Inter or Napoli knock at my door...'

Atalanta defender Timothy Castagne admits he would be open to the possibility of a move to either Inter or Napoli. “If they should knock on the door…”

Castagne had been linked with a move away from Bergamo last summer, and at one point it was believed that he was close to joining Crystal Palace.

However the Belgian stayed with La Dea.

Flamengo see 'happy' Gabigol ending

The Gabigol saga drags on, as Flamengo insist they “should have a happy ending” next week, but remain a long way off Inter’s asking price.

Gabriel Barbosa is still owned by Inter, but rediscovered his form on loan in Brazil for first Santos and then Flamengo.

He scored 34 goals in 43 games for Flamengo, leading them to the Brazilian league title as well as the historic Copa Libertadores and the Final of the Club World Cup.

Report: Piatek rejects offers

Krzysztof Piatek has reportedly rejected offers from Genoa and Crystal Palace, as he wants to stay with Milan.

Piatek was signed a year ago from Genoa for €35m, but after a bright start for the Rossoneri, his form has dipped.

The striker has only scored five goals in the second half of 2019, with three of them coming from the penalty spot.

Milan have since signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic, potentially leaving the Poland international permanently on the Rossoneri bench.

West Ham target Gabigol

Flamengo’s offer of €16m plus 20 per cent of a future sale does not convince Inter, so Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa is courted by West Ham and Crystal Palace.

For several months now, Flamengo have claimed there is a deal in place to sign Gabigol on a permanent basis after his hugely successful loan spell.

However, Inter always warned they hadn’t yet reached an agreement for the buy-out clause and are prepared to sell him to the highest bidder.

Three in, four out for Genoa?

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi is initiating a mini-revolution at the club, it is claimed, starting with the signing of Milan’s Fabio Borini.

Preziosi recently sacked Thiago Motta after only two months in the job, replacing him with former Crotone and Udinese boss Davide Nicola.

Now, Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira states the club is set to offload four players, with three coming in.

Milan forward Borini would to be the first player to arrive, followed by Belgrano defender Bruno Amione and Viktoria Plzen attacker Michael Krmencik.

'De Boer Inter's worst-ever coach'

Jonathan Biabiany claims Frank de Boer will go down as “the worst coach in Inter’s history. His style of football fails on all fronts.”

De Boer was in charge of the Nerazzurri for only 14 games during the 2016-17 campaign, winning just five of them before he was dismissed in October.

Biabiany played under the Dutchman during his chaotic reign and did not hold back when asked about it.

“For me, he was the worst coach in the history of Inter,” he told ITA Sport Press.

Report: Palace go for Borini

Crystal Palace have reportedly been testing the waters at Milan regarding a loan deal for Fabio Borini this winter.

Evening Standard claims Palace boss Roy Hodgson has sounded out the 28-year-old as a target for January.

The newspaper writes that the Eagles will try to take the forward on loan, particularly given he qualifies as a homegrown player.

He moved to London at the age of 16, signing for Chelsea, and moved to Milan in 2017 after later spells at Liverpool, Sunderland and Swansea City.

Inter open Gabigol bidding war

Inter’s on-loan striker Gabigol could be heading to Crystal Palace or West Ham, according to reports, if Flamengo cannot agree a permanent deal.

Palace and Genoa want Borini

Fabio Borini looks ready to leave Milan in January, with Genoa or more likely Crystal Palace his next destination.

The versatile forward has played in attack, midfield or even as a full-back since joining the Rossoneri from Sunderland in 2017.

His contract is due to expire at the end of this season and there won’t be a renewal, as he has made only two appearances this term, both of them in August.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Genoa and Crystal Palace are interested in signing the 28-year-old.
