Garcia: 'Roma return would be magical'

Rudi Garcia assures he is happy at Olympique Lyonnais, but would love to return and win something at Roma one day. “That really would be magical.”

The former Giallorossi coach spoke to Sky Sport Italia this evening and it sparked a wave of nostalgia.

“I am very happy at Lyon now, so obviously I hope to continue here and win something, but you can never say never to a return. Coming back to Roma one day would be truly wonderful.

Garcia: 'We honestly don't know'

Olympique Lyonnais coach has admitted that he doesn’t know if the return leg against Juventus will “be played behind closed doors or outside of Italy”.

The return leg in the last 16 of the Champions League has been affected by the recent coronavirus fears in Italy and different suggestions, including bringing the match outside of the country.

The Lyon coach admitted that he doesn’t have any new information regarding the situation and wanted to focus on Sunday’s match in Ligue 1.

Garcia: 'Lyon spread Juventus defence'

Rudi Garcia explained how Lyon “spread the play” to create problems for Juventus and hope to “score a goal in Turin” too in this Champions League tie.

The French side were the underdogs, but have a 1-0 first leg lead in this Champions League Round of 16 thanks to Lucas Tousart’s strike.

Lyon managed to prevent Juve getting a single shot on target, as when Paulo Dybala did get the ball in the net, he was offside.

Garcia: 'Sarri doesn't change Juve'

Lyon coach Rudi Garcia saw “elements of Maurizio Sarri’s tactical principles” in the new Juventus, but argued the club “are an institution who rarely change identity.”

The first leg in the Round of 16 kicks off in France on Wednesday at 20.00 GMT.

“We are confident going into this game, even if the season on the whole has not been easy for us,” said the former Roma coach in his press conference.

Juve can't be complacent in Lyon

Juventus travel to Lyon for the first leg of their Champions League clash on Wednesday and Vilizar Yakimov warns that the Bianconeri can’t afford to underestimate the French side.

It’s very rare to see a domestic league game getting more attention than a Champions League knockout stage one. Yet, that’s exactly what happened to Olympique Lyonnais and Juventus, as the upcoming Derby d’Italia and the Coronavirus situation in Italy have somewhat overshadowed the game on Wednesday.

While Maurizio Sarri’s men can consider themselves rather fortunate to draw Lyon in the Round of 16, they should be extremely careful with their approach for the first leg in France.

Aulas: 'Sarri one of the best'

Olympique Lyonnais President Jean-Michel Aulas has claimed that Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri is “at the same level” of Pep Guardiola and Jürgen Klopp.

Report: Marseille want Ghoulam

Faouzi Ghoulam could leave Napoli in the January transfer window, with Olympique Marseille interested in the left-back, reports La Repubblica.

The Algerian has struggled to regain the form he showed prior to rupturing his ACL against Manchester City in the Champions League two seasons ago.

Ghoulam has been in and out of the starting XI ever since, as he’s tried to make his way back to full fitness.
