Commisso: 'Can't take advantage of me'

Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso warned he is “not an uncle from America that came here to be taken advantage of. I need to have control.”

“I took a calculated risk,” Commisso told Bloomberg. “Now was the time to act, the price was right and I made the decision.”

Fiorentina finally made a decision they probably should’ve already acknowledged over the summer and sacked Vincenzo Montella. There were several candidates to revive the Viola, including Gennaro Gattuso and Luciano Spalletti, but ultimately the job went to Beppe Iachini. At first glance, it’s not exactly an upgrade.

Corvino: 'Fiorentina sale act of love'

Former Fiorentina director of sport Pantaleo Corvino claims the Della Valle brothers sold the club as “an act of love” and Rocco Commisso can make back his investment with three players.

Commisso stadium and De Paul hints

Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso discussed transfer strategy, Federico Chiesa, Rodrigo De Paul and new stadium plans.

The Italian-American flew in to attend their opening Serie A game of the season, a 4-3 defeat to Napoli, and had a series of meetings with the local council today.

“The Stadio Franchi could be restructured or a new arena built, we have options, so we need to consider them, see the timing and what we’d be allowed to do. Unfortunately, that is the situation we have to deal with,” Commisso told Radio Bruno.

Commisso: 'I like to overdeliver'

New Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso is “the sort of guy who likes to underpromise and overdeliver,” but pledges they won’t go the way of Yonghong Li at Milan.
