Official: Sassuolo appoint De Zerbi

Sassuolo have officially confirmed the appointment of Roberto De Zerbi on a two-year contract.

The former Palermo Coach took over Benevento midway through last season, and though they were relegated the Streghe achieved some notable results under his tenure.

The Neroverdi parted ways with Beppe Iachini at the end of the season, and De Zerbi has done enough to convince the Emilian club he deserves to remain in Serie A.

Sagna: 'Benevento time at an end'

Bacary Sagna said reports he will stay with Benevento in Serie B are untrue and he hasn’t yet decided what his “next challenge” will be.

The former Manchester City defender was a surprise addition to the side at the foot of the Serie A table in January.

“I signed a short-term contract with Benevento and did this in the knowledge that I was joining a club who were very much cut adrift at the bottom of the table at the time,” Sagna told FootballFanCast.com.

Benevento keep Sagna, sign Goddard?

Benevento are relegated to Serie B, but could both keep Bacary Sagna and bring in Cy Goddard from Tottenham Hotspur.

Le Streghe had their first ever Serie A campaign and had some surprising results, most notably their goalkeeper scoring a last-gasp 2-2 equaliser against Milan and the 1-0 victory at San Siro.

However, they were relegated straight back to Serie B after six wins, three draws and an all-time record 29 defeats.

Nonetheless, Sky Sport Italia claim Benevento are still attracting top drawer talent, even in Serie B.

Puscas leaning towards Leganes

Inter are in negotiations to sell striker George Puscas, currently on loan at Novara, to Spanish side Leganes rather than Chievo.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the 22-year-old centre-forward and Romania international is ready to move on a permanent basis.

He came up through the Inter youth academy and had numerous loan spells with Bari, Benevento and Novara.

This season, Puscas scored 10 goals in 31 games between Serie A, B and the Coppa Italia, leaving Benevento in January for Serie B side Novara.

Bucchi set for Benevento

Cristian Bucchi will be the new Benevento Coach, signing a two-year contract, after his existing ties to Sassuolo were terminated.

The 41-year-old tactician was appointed by Sassuolo a year ago and fired on November 27 after a dismal start to the season, replaced by Beppe Iachini.

He was still under contract and terminated it by mutual consent this afternoon.

Bucchi is now free to put pen to paper on a two-year deal with recently-relegated Benevento.
