Inter director Beppe Marotta politely declined to comment on the Francesco Acerbi ruling after attending a FIGC meeting on Thursday: ‘I have nothing to say.’

Several reporters waited for Marotta outside the FIGC offices in Rome on Thursday after a FIGC Federal Council meeting.

Journalists only had time to ask one question before Marotta quickly entered a car waiting for him. Obviously, it was about the ruling that found Inter defender Aerbi not guilty of racially abusing Juan Jesus.

Marotta replied with a smile and said: “Thank you, but I have nothing to say.”

Acerbi had escaped a potential ten-game ban earlier this week as authorities found insufficient evidence to take the case further, but the ruling is still a huge talking point in Italy, which also involved Minister for Sport Andrea Abodi, who criticised the sports judge’s decision on Thursday.
