Cassano set for Milan talks

Milan chief Adriano Galliani will reportedly meet with the agent of Antonio Cassano at some stage on Wednesday.

The fantasista's future has been placed into some doubt ahead of the 2012 European Championship.

Although Milan are happy to keep him and the player is content at San Siro, the January arrival from Sampdoria may consider an exit if he receives offers from elsewhere.

Cassano is not guaranteed first team football at Milan in a squad which includes Robinho, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alexandre Pato and Pippo Inzaghi.

Vila considers Milan exit

Didac Vila seems to be angling for a move away from Milan after making just one Serie A appearance for the club.

The Spaniard joined the Rossoneri in January, but had to wait until the last day of the season against Udinese to make his League debut.

"I am young and I need to play," the full-back is quoted as saying on Tuesday.

"It has been hard to sit on the sidelines for all of this time.

"Nevertheless, it has been an experience which has helped me to mature."

Allegri: 'Mourinho is pathetic!'

Milan manager Max Allegri has blasted some colleagues, including Jose Mourinho. “He's pathetic and banal. His arrogance hides insecurity.”

The Rossoneri tactician was interviewed on comedy show Le Iene and asked to give a brief description of other bosses, but was particularly riled by the Real Madrid chief.

“Every now and then Mourinho is pathetic. He always repeats the same things and it makes him become banal,” said Allegri.

“I think he's very talented, but his arrogance hides insecurity.”

Alexandre Pato will not undergo surgery for his dislocated shoulder, “but will be out for four to five weeks.”

The Milan striker fell awkwardly during Sunday's 0-0 draw with Udinese and popped his left shoulder out of joint.

It was already put back in place under general anaesthetic on Sunday evening, but more tests were performed today.

“Complications were excluded,” read a statement on the Milan website. “After a consultation with Professor Taverna, a shoulder specialist, it was decided not to intervene surgically.

Milan implement over-30 rule

Milan chief Adriano Galliani says the club will only hand one-year contract extensions to players over the age of 30.

The official made the statement when asked about the departure of Andrea Pirlo who leaves the outfit after a decade.

"I think that it is too much for a player who is 30-32 to think about a three-year contract," he told Sky Italia.

"Had Pirlo accepted shorter terms then he would probably have remained. From now on, Milan will only offer yearly contracts to players over 30."

Milan expect Gattuso to remain

Italian champions Milan are confident that Gennaro Gattuso will still be at the club for their 2011-12 campaign.

The veteran midfielder has been linked with a lucrative move to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala, but Adriano Galliani doesn't predict a summer exit.

"Gattuso has a contract with us and he has not asked for a transfer," the Rossoneri Vice-President noted on Monday.

Galliani's words come after the player's agent also seemed to rule out a Stadio Meazza exit for his client.
