Milan reject Gattuso exit claims

Milan have moved swiftly to deny reports that Gennaro Gattuso has played in his last city derby for the club.

Whispers regarding Gattuso's future have been circulating for some time, with reports that he could be tempted away by a big money offer from Russia.

However, after playing in Saturday's 3-0 win over Inter, the Rossoneri insist that the 2006 World Cup winner is not for sale.

Cassano: I was naive again

Antonio Cassano freely admits that the red card he received in Saturday's Milan derby was another example of his naivety.

The Italy international playmaker came off the bench, scored a penalty and was then sent off for a second bookable offence.

"It's another ingenuity that I have committed and I will pay for it," Cassano said. "I have committed many ingenuities in my career and I hope to commit fewer.

"Silvio Berlusconi said that I would be decisive in the derby. I can say that the President is someone who I respect a lot.

Abbiati keeps his cool

Christian Abbiati explained his amazing save in the Milan derby and warned his teammates “the season has a long way to go.”

The Rossoneri beat rivals Inter 3-0 last night to open up a five-point lead at the top of the table.

Some would say Abbiati's save on the Thiago Silva header before half-time, when it was still 1-0, was worth as much as a fourth goal.

“It almost went in, but after my save Ignazio Abate did well to finally clear it,” said the goalkeeper.

Seedorf: 'I'll stay if Milan want me to'

Clarence Seedorf was one of the stars of the Milan derby triumph and is out of contract in June. “I'll stay if the club wants me to.”

The Dutchman turned 35 this week and played a key part in last night's 3-0 victory over Inter.

“I have proved how much I care for Milan every day over the last nine years, but I will stay only if the club shows that it wants me to,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“There is mutual respect, so we will discuss the situation without problems.”

Pato's special derby dedication

Alexandre Pato had a very special dedication for his derby brace: his new girlfriend, the daughter of President Silvio Berlusconi.

There have been reports that the striker is seeing Barbara Berlusconi and these were effectively confirmed last night at San Siro when she was cheering on from the stands.

“Who did I dedicate the goals to? Well, you all saw who...” he said in a Press conference before waving away further questions.

Berlusconi slams door on Balotelli

Milan President Silvio Berlusconi warns the Scudetto isn't won yet and has “affection” for Leonardo, but “Mario Balotelli's style doesn't suit us.”

The patron, who is also Prime Minister of Italy, was not in the stands for last night's 3-0 victory over Inter.

“The Scudetto is seven games away. We have the opportunity to do well and from that respect the derby was important,” he commented.

Inter boss Leonardo was welcomed by a huge banner depicting The Last Supper with the former Milan Coach as Judas.

Prandelli: 'Cassano was naive'

Cesare Prandelli tips Napoli to fight for the Scudetto all the way and comments on Antonio Cassano's “naive” red card.

This weekend the Serie A table took a strange turn, as Milan beat Inter 3-0, allowing the Partenopei into second place.

“The Milan derby was a wonderful game,” said the Italy Coach, who was in the stands last night.

“Napoli have an extraordinary structure with their football and great character. I'm convinced they'll fight for the Scudetto right to the end.”

Who needs Ibra?

The derby triumph showed what Milan can do by playing in a style that doesn't require Zlatan Ibrahimovic, says Susy Campanale

It has often been said that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not a man for the big occasion and we've seen little this season to dispel that theory. He was once again totally ineffective in the Champions League and, having seen the 3-0 domination of Inter, I can't shake the feeling they play better without him.

Pirlo out, but Milito in

Andrea Pirlo and Daniele Bonera have not recovered in time for the Milan derby this evening, but Diego Milito and Andrea Ranocchia are ready.

There were hopes the Rossoneri would have their midfielder Pirlo back for his first official game since January, as he was in training this week.

However, the knee injury is not completely healed yet, so he is out of the game along with Bonera, Marek Jankulovski, Massimo Ambrosini, Pippo Inzaghi and the suspended Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Mou: 'What the Milan derby means'

Jose Mourinho is looking forward to the Derby della Madonnina tonight. “People outside Italy don't realise what this game means in a fantastic atmosphere.”

The former Inter Coach had two years of the San Siro clash and is now at the helm of Real Madrid.

“I would love to watch it,” he said in a Press conference for Real's game with Sporting Gijon.

“It's a wonderful derby. I played four and won three, but I loved them all, even the one I lost.
