Yepes targets 'easier' Scudetto

Mario Yepes concedes the Champions League “will be difficult, but Milan are targeting another Scudetto.”

The Colombian became an unexpected fan favourite in this title-winning campaign.

“I was always convinced that I was up to Milan's standards,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“At the start I was sad, as everyone had a chance to play except me. Adriano Galliani did well at that time, and I'm proud to have proved him right in choosing me.

Milan look to Barca's Keita

Milan continue their search for a left-sided midfielder and are now looking to Barcelona's Seydou Keita.

The Rossoneri have made it clear they want a reinforcement for that area of the squad and have been linked with names like Axel Witsel of Standard Liege.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, an older and more experienced candidate is Mali international Keita.

If Barcelona sign Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal, then Keita would be free to go for around €8m.

Once again this morning the media in Italy reported on FantAntonio looking at Fiorentina or Napoli as a way of ensuring regular first team football ahead of Euro 2012.

“This is a broken record that has been going on for a long time,” agent Beppe Bozzo told Mediaset Premium Calcio.

Stroppa stunned by Milan sacking

Giovanni Stroppa is flabbergasted after he was sacked as Coach of Milan's youth team. “They didn't give me a reason.”

The former midfielder was at the helm of the Rossoneri Primavera side this season, but an announcement on the club website confirmed he would no longer be on the bench.

“I wasn't the one to leave this job, but the club dropped me without warning and they didn't give me a reason,” Stroppa told Milannews.

Abbiati appeals to Cassano

Christian Abbiati has urged teammate Antonio Cassano to stay at Milan. “He needs to concentrate and find new motivation.”

Although his agent and Vice-President Adriano Galliani have both firmly denied reports of a move away, the media continue to suggest Cassano will leave to seek first-team football.

“It seems to me that in these months at Milan Cassano has started many games and come on for the second half in others,” goalkeeper Abbiati told the Corriere dello Sport.

Maxwell not off to Milan

Maxwell will not be leaving European champions Barcelona for Milan this summer, his agent has insisted.

The left-back was this week associated with the Rossoneri given that he is not a regular at the Nou Camp and because his agent is Mino Raiola.

The latter works closely with Milan and was the representative who helped them secure Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho last summer.

"I have never had any contact with Milan," Pastorello told Sky Sport Italia.

Barcelona seem to be in pole position to net the former Manchester United player and the representative confirmed their admiration.
