Allegri 'doesn't want Pirlo'

Assistant manager Mauro Tassotti confirms Andrea Pirlo is no longer required at Milan. “Max Allegri wants different characteristics.”

Veteran Pirlo's contract expires on June 30 and it does not look as if he will be offered an extension.

“Allegri wants a player with more defensive characteristics compared to Andrea when sitting in front of the defence,” said Tassotti during the Scudetto celebrations.

Berlusconi to build 'a young Milan'

Barbara Berlusconi has set the scene for “another 25 years of success” at Milan and drops the old guard. “We're focusing on youth.”

The daughter of President Silvio Berlusconi was appointed to the Board of Directors a few weeks ago and was in the stands for last night's 0-0 draw with Roma.

“I am very happy that we have achieved this objective, but it must be a starting point to build a new Milan,” she told the Corriere dello Sport.

The Complete Milan

The Old Guard and summer spending spree got Milan on top, but Susy Campanale argues it's the January strategy that kept them there

Few can dispute Milan's 18th Scudetto, as they have been on top of the table continuously since November 10 and beat both Inter and Napoli twice. There have been a few hiccups, as is inevitable in such a competitive League, but in terms of consistency they have been a step above. That is frankly unusual for the Rossoneri and can be put down to a very intelligent mid-season transfer strategy.

Zambrotta reveals Leo 'problems'

Gianluca Zambrotta looks forward to Milan's Scudetto party, potentially tonight, and reveals “Leonardo is the Coach I had most problems with in my career.”

The veteran full-back looked back in a long interview with Sky Sport Italia and was asked to compare the last three Rossoneri tacticians.

“I already knew Carlo Ancelotti from our time at Juventus, so I got on well with him straight away,” explained Zambro.

Inter fight Milan for Hulk

Inter are set to spark another transfer market derby with Milan after reportedly entering negotiations for Porto star Hulk.

Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani declared this week that his club was “interested” in the Brazilian centre-forward.

However, Porto slammed the door on this option, as they are still smarting from the shock collapse of Aly Cissokho's move to Milan a few summers ago.

Juan ready to ruin Milan's party

Juan has warned Milan that Roma aim to ruin their Scudetto party tonight. “We'll fight to the end for the Champions League.”

The Rossoneri will secure the Serie A title this evening with a point at the Olimpico, but both sides are fired up.

“Every game from now to the end of the season is important,” Juan told Globoesporte.

“It won't be easy to earn a place in the Champions League. We need to win all three remaining matches and hope that other results go our way.

Line-ups: Ibra returns to face Roma

Milan welcome back Zlatan Ibrahimovic for their Scudetto clash against Francesco Totti's Roma.

The Rossoneri need only one point this evening at the Stadio Olimpico in order to mathematically secure the Serie A title.

Ibrahimovic's three-match ban has expired, so he returns to partner Robinho with support from Kevin-Prince Boateng.

Alexandre Pato is back in the squad, but only fit enough for the bench alongside Antonio Cassano.

Roma must do without the suspended Daniele De Rossi and Simone Perrotta, while Philippe Mexes is injured.

Nesta: 'Milan deserved it'

Alessandro Nesta believes Milan's Scudetto was “thoroughly deserved, as we were top of the table for the whole campaign.”

The Rossoneri's 0-0 draw with Roma this evening mathematically clinched their 18th Serie A title and sparked celebrations.

“We were top of the table for the whole campaign, so it was only normal that we'd be there at the end too,” the defender told Sky Sport Italia.

“We have an eight-point advantage and the Scudetto is thoroughly deserved. I dedicate this title to my family.”

Pato's first, Seedorf and Ambro's last?

Alexandre Pato declared “it's my first time!” while Milan veterans Clarence Seedorf and Massimo Ambrosini are old hands at the Scudetto.

The Stadio Olimpico is the scene of title celebrations as tonight's 0-0 draw with Roma secured the Serie A crown.

“It's my first time winning a Scudetto, so this is a very special day for me,” grinned Pato.

On the other hand, Seedorf was in the squad the last time they won the Serie A title in 2004.

Allegri: 'I still can't believe it!'

Massimiliano Allegri has won the Scudetto at his first attempt with Milan. “I still can't believe it! I made a pledge with Adriano Galliani.”

The former Cagliari Coach had never won silverware before, but is Champion of Italy after a 0-0 draw at Roma this evening.

“It was important to finish this off against Roma, who still have ambitions of fourth place. We played with great concentration to bring the Scudetto to Milan without waiting for next Sunday,” said Allegri.
