Milan face battle for Boateng

Genoa look as though they will prove tough negotiators this summer when Milan attempt to make Kevin-Prince Boateng's move to San Siro permanent.

The Ghana international midfielder is on loan until the end of the season and so far has been one of Milan's best players.

"We'll see in May," said Genoa President Enrico Preziosi. "Galliani knows that I don't make gifts and he doesn't either. It will be a great fight.

Galliani defends Italian game

Adriano Galliani feels Milan can leave the Champions League with their heads held high and that the Italian game isn't completely in decline.

Milan drew 0-0 at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night, but went out 1-0 on aggregate to Tottenham with the regret of not having done more in the first leg.

"We need to look at the positive aspects of this game. We were only missing a goal," Galliani said.

Report: Milan pre-agree Kaka deal

Reports in Spain suggest Milan have already reached an agreement to bring Kaka back from Real Madrid in the summer.

Wednesday's edition of El Mundo Deportivo claims Kaka is up for sale and will return to San Siro is a deal worth between €20m and €30m.

Earlier this week, Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani said the signing of Kaka would be impossible because of his extremely high wages at Real Madrid.

Mythbusters

They may have failed to reach the Quarter Finals but Milan shattered some stereotypes, according to Scott Fleming

Glorious failure was once the preserve of the Scottish national team. Now it seems Milan are getting in on the act.

There are some that will refute that observation straight off the bat, that will argue it's a disgrace for the Serie A leaders to be eliminated from the Champions League by a team sat 5th in the Premier League. Those people are living in the past. In 2008 to be precise, when Milan were reigning champions of Europe and Harry Redknapp took charge of a Tottenham side bottom of the table.

Seedorf: Milan need a great game

Clarence Seedorf believes Milan need a big performance against Tottenham tonight if they are to qualify for the Champions League Quarter-Finals.

Milan lost the first leg 1-0 at San Siro and the odds aren't stacked in their favour.

Asked if he will play in a trequartista role, Seedorf said: "I can play in any part of the pitch and try to give quality and experience like I have always done, and perhaps even a little more.

"This is a special game after the first leg. But I feel that we are ready to play a great game."

Bale to start on bench

It's thought Gareth Bale will start on the bench for Tottenham this evening when they face Milan in the Champions League at White Hart Lane.

The Wales international winger only returned from a back injury at the weekend, playing 20 minutes against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

"We've got to see how he is," said Spurs manager Harry Redknapp. "He trained today, he did a little bit but I am not too sure about the game.

"I don't think he is fit enough to start. He doesn't feel that he is quite ready.

Tassotti: 'Milan emergency against Spurs'

Milan assistant manager Mauro Tassotti feels they can get past Tottenham “even if we are in an emergency situation.”

The Rossoneri lost the first leg 1-0 on home turf and travel to White Hart Lane this evening without Gennaro Gattuso, Massimo Ambrosini, Andrea Pirlo, Pippo Inzaghi or the cup-tied Antonio Cassano, Mark Van Bommel and Urby Emanuelson.

“We need to be balanced,” said Tassotti. “As long as the game is on 0-0, it will be balanced.”

Dawson: 'Milan forced Spurs back'

Tottenham stars Michael Dawson and Peter Crouch acknowledge Milan “forced us to sit back” in a tense second leg.

Spurs are notorious for their attacking approach and had won all their Champions League home games, but were fortunate to escape with a goalless draw at White Hart Lane, beating the Rossoneri 1-0 on aggregate.

“Winning ugly? Definitely. The first half performance was back to walls, but we worked our socks off. Same in the second half. Look at it now, it's rocking,” Dawson told ITV.
