Berlusconi opens door to Kaka

Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi says it would be "great news" if Real Madrid playmaker Ricky Kaka were to return to the club.

Last week Kaka's father Bosco encouraged Milan to bring his son back to San Siro after an injury-blighted 18 months in Spain.

Quoted in Tuttosport after a trip to the dentist, Berlusconi apparently said: "If Kaka were to return, it would be great news.

"I don't think a return is possible. Not right now. But if he were to return it would really be great news for Milan and for all the fans."

Boateng shock Spurs comeback

“It is very probable” Kevin-Prince Boateng will be on the pitch against Tottenham tomorrow, said Milan chief Adriano Galliani.

The Ghana international was thought to be out of action after limping off at half-time during Saturday's 1-0 win at Juventus.

He was diagnosed with a sprained ankle, but is making a remarkable recovery and trained with his teammates today.

“I was not at Milanello this morning, but from the news I hear, it is very probable Boateng will be on the field tomorrow,” revealed Vice-President Galliani.

Allegri has Boateng quandary

Max Allegri hints that Kevin-Prince Boateng “has a good chance of starting” at White Hart Lane tomorrow, “but the formation depends on him.”

Milan have to overturn a 1-0 first leg defeat to Tottenham and thought they'd be without the Ghana international when he limped off with a sprained knee during Saturday's win at Juventus.

“Boateng has one more night to go and we have to see how he's feeling tomorrow morning, but he has a good chance of starting,” said the Coach in his pre-match Press conference.

A Duck out of water

Deadly in Serie A, defective in the Champions League, Alexandre Pato is a Milan enigma in Europe. Antonio Labbate writes

The clock read 87 minutes and 43 seconds when Alexandre Pato volleyed past Iker Casillas at the Bernabeu. Deliciously picked out by a precise dinked cross from Clarence Seedorf, the Brazilian ensured a 3-2 victory for Milan in an enthralling Champions League tie between two of European football's most prized possessions.

While Seedorf was accustomed to such a spotlight, given his four Champions League trophies with three different jerseys during his career, it was a game of firsts – and unexpected lasts – for the kid from South America.

Gattuso: This Milan is incredible

Rino Gattuso thinks this current Milan side is "incredible" and that it has more than honoured the name of the club.

The veteran midfielder scored a rare goal on Saturday night to inflict defeat on Juventus in Turin.

It ensured Milan maintained their five-point lead over Inter at the top of Serie A.

Speaking to the Milan Channel, Gattuso said: "Milan are not ready to win the Champions League.

"It seems like Milan haven't won anything. It seems that we are Longobarda, a little team.

Galliani: Kaka is too expensive

Adriano Galliani has distanced Milan from a bid for Ricky Kaka, telling reporters that his prospective return to San Siro would be too expensive.

Last week, Kaka's father appeared to encourage Milan to make a bid for the Real Madrid midfielder who won a Champions League, a Scudetto and the Ballon d'Or in a six-year spell in Italy before leaving for Spain two summers' ago.

"Ricardino earns too much also because they pay less tax," Galliani said.

'Ibra won't end his career at Milan'

Despite expressing his intention to do so, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not end his career with Milan, according to the player's agent Mino Raiola.

Last week, Ibrahimovic told La Gazzetta dello Sport that he plans to retire at the age of 33 and doesn't see himself playing for any team other than Milan.

Speaking to 7 Gold, Raiola was asked if his client would keep his promise.

"No," Raiola said. "Before stopping Ibra will make another three transfers.

"We will decide in 2012, also based on results," he concluded.

Bale fit for Milan tie

Tottenham have received a boost ahead of Milan's visit to White Hart Lane this week, as Gareth Bale appears to be fit again.

The Wales international played the last 20 minutes of Spurs' 3-3 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Sunday.

Milan have reason to fear Bale after he scored a hat-trick against Inter at San Siro in the Champions League earlier this season.

A bad back kept Baloe out of the first leg of Tottenham's second round clash with Milan last month, but the Premier League outfit still won 1-0.

Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri says that while Tottenham play great football, they still aren't among the elite in Europe.

Zola: Spurs should beware Pato

Gianfranco Zola believes Alexandre Pato is likely to be Milan's secret weapon when they face Tottenham in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Brazil international striker didn't start the first leg, which Milan lost 1-0, but his record of 11 goals in 17 League appearances this season mean he is a potent threat.

"Milan have every chance of going through," Zola told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Tottenham are a great team, but they are young and inexperienced."
