Berlusconi pulls out of pre-season

President Silvio Berlusconi will not be present at Milanello today as the club start their pre-season preparations.

The owner was expected to make an appearance as the Italian champions begin work for the 2011-12 campaign.

However, the Italian Primer Minister has withdrawn from the appointment following the death of an Italian soldier in Afghanistan last night.

Milan confirm Ferreira swoop

Milan have confirmed the expected capture of Ricardo Araujo Ferreira from Portuguese giants Porto.

The 18-year-old is a centre-back who has joined the Italian outfit on a free transfer from his previous club.

Ferreira, born in Canada, has played for Portugal's Under-17, U-18 and U-19 international sides.
