Garrone: 'Cassano was a prima donna'

Sampdoria President Riccardo Garrone notes he will “miss Antonio Cassano, but he was a prima donna and rules must be respected.”

The patron took legal action to have the player's contract terminated for insubordination following a blazing row at the end of October.

The tribunal ruled Cassano would be suspended until February 1 without pay and forced to halve his wages. He has now joined Milan on loan.

Allegri: 'Cassano isn't a monster'

Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri insists Antonio Cassano is not a monster, but a professional football player.

The 28-year-old Italy international hasn't played for two months on account of the dispute with his former club.

Pundits feel Cassano could disrupt an otherwise settled Milan dressing room.

Interviewed in La Repubblica, Allegri said: "Cassano isn't a monster, he's a professional.
