Alexandre Pato has committed his entire career to Milan. "I want to be like Paolo Maldini," he said.

Interviewed by the Gazzetta dello Sport following the club's Scudetto success, Pato insisted that he'd be happy to stay at the club for some time to come.

"I don't look at it like Zlatan Ibrahimovic," he said. "I want to stay here and become a flag bearer for this club, like Paolo Maldini. However, to become a symbol of a team you have to win a lot."

Massimo Oddo maintains that he still has a part to play in the future of Milan. "I hope to stay."

The veteran defender has only made seven Serie A appearances this term, a figure which has raised doubts over his future.

However, the 2006 World Cup winner is confident that he is still worthy of the Rossoneri jersey.

"I'm happy at Milan," he noted. "Physically speaking, I think that I can continue to give quite a lot at high levels.

After links with Napoli's Marek Hamsik and Javier Pastore of Palermo this week, Milan are now being paired with a move for Rafael Van Der Vaart.

The Corriere dello Sport claims that the Tottenham player is one of the club's top priorities on the transfer market.

Milan are looking to build a side that is competitive enough to fight for the Champions League and see Van Der Vaart as a useful addition.

Milan chief Adriano Galliani has revealed that the club want to sign a left-sided midfielder this summer.

"If none of our top players leave, which I don't think they will, then Milan will make just one signing – a left-sided midfielder," he noted on the day that the club were linked with Rafael Van Der Vaart.

"We are sorted in defence with Philippe Mexes and Taye Taiwo. And fine in attack if nobody departs."

Palermo say they won't make a bid for Antonio Cassano and they haven't received an offer for Javier Pastore.

The Milan man has been linked with a move this summer over concerns that he won't be guaranteed a starting shirt at San Siro next term.

Palermo were suggested as a possible destination for the Italian international, but Rosanero chief Maurizio Zamparini has shot down that theory.

"Cassano will never come to Palermo," he told Radio Goal. "His salary is too big for us, we just can't afford it."

Antonio Cassano has no intention of leaving Italian champions Milan this summer, his representative has underlined.

The Italian's future has been the subject of speculation ever since the Rossoneri wrapped up the Scudetto.

However, contacted by Sky Sport 24, Cassano's representative Beppe Bozzo ruled out a Stadio Meazza exit.

"Antonio will stay with Milan," Bozzo stated. "He is very happy and there are no reasons why he would want to leave."

Kaka has admitted that Milan are in his heart, but he has no plans to leave Real Madrid at this stage of his career.

There is growing speculation that the Italian champions could make a bid to re-sign the attacking midfielder, after recent comments from club officials Adriano Galliani and Silvio Berlusconi.

However, the South American seems to have ruled out the possibility of quitting his Spanish club over the summer.

"I feel like a Milanista, but before I leave Real Madrid I want to be a protagonist here," he commented.

Marseille defender Taye Taiwo is expected to have his Milan medical today ahead of his move to Serie A.

The Rossoneri have picked up the defender on a Bosman free and the switch could be finalised on Wednesday.

The Nigerian arrived in the Italian city last night where he dined with Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani.

He is set to undergo tests this morning before meeting with Rossoneri officials to conclude talks over his transfer.

Clarence Seedorf will make a decision on his Milan future after talking tactics with boss Massimiliano Allegri.

Seedorf is out of contract next month and met with Vice-President Adriano Galliani yesterday to discuss his options.

Galliani has since revealed that the talks went well, but the player wants to understand the thoughts of Allegri.

"He needs to talk to the Coach," the Vice-President noted. "This is a footballing issue, not a financial one as we are at a good point with regard to finances.
