Milan unveil new stripes

Serie A leaders Milan have this afternoon unveiled their new home shirt for the 2011-12 campaign.

Adidas have taken inspiration from history after the jerseys were modelled by Mark Van Bommel, Clarence Seedorf and Luca Antonini.

"We decided to recall tradition," Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani said. "This is a shirt which recalls those historical Milan ones of the past."

The black and red stripes are thinner than they have been in recent times, while the Adidas stripes are boldly represented on the shoulders in white.

Seedorf: 'No Milan offer, so...'

Clarence Seedorf can taste Milan's Scudetto, but admits he has “not received any contract renewal offer and am considering other proposals.”

The Dutch veteran's current deal expires on June 30 and he could walk away on a Bosman transfer with offers from several Brazilian clubs.

Seedorf was chosen as one of the models for the new 2011-12 Rossoneri jersey today, but could well not be at the club next season.

“I am an Adidas player, so I'm here for them as much as Milan,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Malesani: 'Milan win not a given'

Alberto Malesani has no intention of making Milan's Scudetto celebrations easy. “Bologna's defeat is not a given.”

The Rossoneri cannot clinch the title today even with a victory, as Inter and Napoli both won their Saturday games.

However, a win would mean they'd need only one point from their remaining three matches to secure the Serie A crown.

“Milan are a fantastic squad and I adore them, but my lads are concentrated and Bologna's defeat is not a given,” warned Coach Malesani.

“Santos have nothing to say with regards to the transfer speculation,” declared director of sport Pedro Luis Nunes Conceicao to newspaper O Globo.

Line-ups: Cassano vs Di Vaio

Massimo Ambrosini returns to the starting XI as Robinho and Antonio Cassano welcome Bologna on Milan's road to the Scudetto.

The Rossoneri cannot clinch the title this weekend because both Inter and Napoli won their games on Saturday.

They do still need four points from the remaining four rounds to mathematically be sure of the Serie A crown.

Mark Van Bommel has joined Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the list of banned players, while Alexandre Pato, Pippo Inzaghi, Gennaro Gattuso and Marek Jankulovski are injured.

Massimiliano Allegri concedes “today's victory takes us closer to the Scudetto,” as Milan now need only a point.

Galliani: 'At worst we're second...'

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani is clinging to superstition. “At least we have second place under lock and key.”

The Rossoneri need only one point to be sure of the Scudetto after today's 1-0 win over Bologna.

“I don't like making predictions,” said Galliani. “There are some good opportunities in the next three games, but seeing as I don't know the future, I'll say that at least we have second place under lock and key.
