Nainggolan: 'No regrets'

Cagliari star Radja Nainggolan has “no regrets” in his career, insisting the partying is just “part of who I am. Nobody can ever say I didn’t give my all in my work.”

The Belgium international has often seen coaches, clubs and even his country turn on him, citing off the field antics, irresponsibility and a penchant for parties.

Martinez: Lukaku can do it all

Belgium CT Roberto Martinez has assured Inter fans that they have “a unique No 9 who knows how to do it all” in Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku became Inter’s record signing when he arrived from Manchester United in August and has made an immediate impact, already scoring five Serie A goals.

“He’s a unique No 9, physically strong: I think it’s important for every team to have a striker who harvests all his qualities,” Martinez told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Mancini: 'Italy not far behind the best'

Roberto Mancini maintains sides like France, Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands and Germany are “not that far ahead” of Italy going into Euro 2020.

The Azzurri qualified for the tournament with three games to spare after winning seven out of seven, while it could be eight tonight against Liechtenstein.

“We’re playing again after three days, so it’s a chance for some players to rest and others to make their mark,” the Coach told Rai Sport.

Milik on target for Poland

Napoli forward Arkadiusz Milik scored a sensational goal that helped Poland join Italy, Belgium and Russia at Euro 2020.

Milik curled a left-foot strike from outside the box, as Poland beat North Macedonia 2-0 this evening.

That proved enough to secure their place at the tournament next summer.

Russia also mathematically clinched qualification for Euro 2020 today, beating Cyprus 5-0.

Italy and Belgium are the only sides to have qualified with a 100 per cent record so far.

Lukaku and Brozovic sent home early

Inter have good news from the break for international duty, as Romelu Lukaku and Marcelo Brozovic are returning early.

Lukaku set a new all-time record by becoming the first man to score 50 goals for Belgium, taking the tally up to 51 with his brace.

As promised, the striker is rewarded for early Euro 2020 qualification by being allowed to return to his club early and skip the second game away to Kazakhstan.

Atalanta try to lock down Castagne

Atalanta are planning a new contract for wing-back Timothy Castagne, as he is targeted by Napoli, Celtic and several Premier League clubs.

The 23-year-old was purchased from KRC Genk in the summer of 2017 for €6.5m and proved instrumental in last season’s run to third place.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Atalanta are negotiating a new contract for Castagne, which would at least double his current €550,000 salary.

It’d only run to June 2022, so adding an extra year to his current deal.

Lukaku makes Belgium history

Inter striker Romelu Lukaku made history this evening by becoming the first man to score 50 goals for Belgium.

The hitman found the net in a Euro 2020 qualifier against San Marino, then soon after added another to take his total tally to 51.

He achieved this feat in only 83 senior caps for his country.

It was part of a crushing 9-0 victory that mathematically sealed Belgium’s place at Euro 2020.

Atalanta wing-back Timothy Castagne rounded out the scoreline in the final minute.

Inter: Lukaku in Belgium squad

Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has joined Dries Mertens and Timothy Castagne in the Belgium squad to face San Marino and Kazakhstan.

Lukaku had missed Inter’s 2-1 defeat to Barcelona with a muscular issue, but the striker should be fit for the Derby d’Italia with Juve on Sunday.

He is therefore called up to the Belgium squad for their upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers with San Marino and Kazakhstan.

There are also places for Napoli forward Mertens and Atalanta wingback Castagne, who has made a full recovery from a knee injury.

Lukaku: Conte behind good form

Romelu Lukaku admits he is relieved to be ‘finally’ working under Antonio Conte at Inter and believes Serie A is ‘moving’ with regards to stamping out racism.

Lukaku followed up his two Serie A finishes for Inter with a goal and assist for Belgium during their 4-0 demolition of Scotland on Monday evening.

“Finally I’m working with Conte, a Coach who has wanted me for a long time,” the striker said after the game.

Euro 2020: Lukaku stars for Belgium

Romelu Lukaku starred during Belgium’s 4-0 victory over Scotland in Euro 2020 qualifying, but Marcelo Brozovic and Ante Rebic struggled for Croatia.

Croatia remain top of Group E but saw their lead cut to just one point after a 1-1 draw with Azerbaijan.

Inter midfielder Brozovic contributed with just a 21st-minute booking, while Milan new boy Rebic was substituted with four to go.
