Genoa are marking the 130th anniversary of the oldest football club in Italy’s foundation with a documentary released on Amazon Prime Video.

This was a side founded in Genoa by British ex-pats in September 1893, which is why the name remains Genoa Cricket and Football Club.

The documentary, called ‘Genoa Comunque e Dovunque’ (Genoa anyway and everywhere) had already been released in cinemas across Italy in January and February 2024.

It is now going to be available on Amazon Prime Video in the original Italian version, with English subtitles, as well as in Spanish in the USA, UK, Europe and South America.

“The documentary explains what we mean when we say that Genoa is unique,” said CEO Andres Blasquez.

“I am sure anyone who loves football will enjoy this film, because it takes the viewer behind the scenes and taps into the passion that this city feels for our great club. A club with a great history, but with a very promising future as well.”

Genoa marked the occasion with special edition warm-up kits ahead of their 1-0 home defeat to Lazio on Friday.

The documentary looks back at some of the iconic moments for the Grifone, including the UEFA Cup victory over Liverpool at Anfield in 1991-92.

There are interviews with star players of the past like Diego Milito and Rodrigo Palacio.

Genoa won nine Serie A titles, but the most recent was in 1924, while they won the Coppa Italia in 1937 and the Anglo-Italian Cup in 1995-96.
