Handanovic eyes Inter success

Goalkeeper Samir Handanovic wants to stay at Inter and is eyeing winning trophies with the San Siro club.

The Slovenian shot-stopper’s performances since his arrival at the Nerazzurri have attracted the attention of clubs around Europe, but the 32-year-old reiterated that his desire is to remain with the three time European champions.

“It is pleasing to hear of other clubs’ interest,” Handanovic told reporters. “It shows I am working well.

Handanovic: 'I take the blame'

Samir Handanovic took “my share of the responsibility” for Inter’s 4-1 hammering at the hands of Fiorentina.

The usually reliable goalkeeper gave away a penalty after a poor first touch, then could’ve done more on the second goal.

“It was a bad night. I compromised it to a degree and I take my share of the responsibility for this defeat,” Handanovic told Mediaset Premium.

Handanovic: ‘Renewal in days’

Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic says he will sign a new contract ‘in the next few days’ following a Milan derby win.

The Slovenia international’s current deal is set to expire next summer and an extension has been the subject of a long-running stand-off between player and club.

However, the 31-year-old says that an agreement should be found soon, with the Nerazzurri top of the league after three consecutive wins.

“I’m happy to have stayed here,” he told Sport Mediaset.

Handanovic: 'Tough save on Balotelli'

Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic described his derby-winning save on Milan striker Mario Balotelli.

The 1-0 result was decided by a Fredy Guarin strike, but Handanovic also had to palm a long-range free kick off the line.

“That was the toughest save, as it was unpredictable. It bounced on the turf and then started veering to the right,” Handanovic told Sky Sport Italia.

“It was overall a pretty even match and I think the two teams were on a par tonight.

Handanovic set for Inter extension

Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic is reportedly set to sign a contract extension.

The Slovenian international’s current deal expires in 2016, and he had been linked with a San Siro exit this summer after failing to agree new terms.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport is today reporting that an extension has been agreed, with Handanovic set to stay with the Nerazzurri until 2019.

The former Udinese ‘keeper will see his wages rise from €2m to around €2.5m plus bonuses, a deal which has been on the table since the beginning of the summer.

The agent of goalkeeper Samir Handanovic categorically rules out all transfer rumours: 'He'll stay with Inter at 100 per cent'.

The 31-year-old had been linked with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, but his representative Federico Pastorello is confident he will stay put.
