Cellino appoints Micheli as new general manager

Brescia President Massimo Cellino has hired Luigi Micheli as the new general manager at the Mario Rigamonti.

Brescia, who currently sit six points behind safety at 19th in Serie A, have decided to make some changes in the managerial staff ahead of the important run-in.

The club announced the new general manager Micheli on their official website: “Brescia Calcio announce the appointment of Dr. Luigi Micheli as the new general manager of the club.

Cellino: 'Tonali wants to stay in Italy'

Brescia owner Massimo Cellino claims Sandro Tonali ‘wants to stay in Italy’ and that his club is ‘licking its wounds’ after Mario Balotelli flopped.

Tonali is currently the subject of a tug-of-war between Inter and Juventus in the transfer market, and Cellino confirmed the midfielder could join either side.

“So far there’s only been a few phone calls, without anything beyond that,” he told Gr Parlamento.

Balotelli asks for March salary

Mario Balotelli has reportedly sent Brescia the third formal reinstatement letter, in addition to a request for the salary of March.

La Gazzetta dello Sport has claimed the club reacted with surprise to the notice received from the former Italy international and according to President Massimo Cellino’s lawyer Mattia Grassani, they are outraged by his behaviour.

Brescia have categorically denied a report that claimed President Massimo Cellino was ready to sell up and buy another English club.

Report: LA Galaxy ask about Balotelli

Brescia forward Mario Balotelli has allegedly been targeted by LA Galaxy, as the former Italy international wants a swift return to the pitch.

Balotelli returned from Ligue 1 last summer and has scored five times in 19 Serie A matches this campaign, unable to help the Rondinelle to safety in their return to the elite.

Barca deny Tonali interest

Barcelona have denied Massimo Cellino’s claim that they offered Brescia €65m plus two players for Sandro Tonali.

Cellino told Corriere dello Sport this morning: “Before the coronavirus, Barcelona had arrived at €65m plus two very interesting guys valued €7.5m each, one was a defender.”

'Nainggolan will return to Roma'

Former Cagliari owner Massimo Cellino believes Radja Nainggolan is destined to return to Roma. “It’s his dream.”

Cellino brought Nainggolan to Cagliari in January 2010 from Piacenza and the midfielder has since gone back to Sardinia on a season-long loan.

However, the arrangement will expire once the campaign concludes and the Brescia President expects the 32-year-old to embark on a second spell at Roma.

“It’s hard not to love him,” he told Corriere dello Sport.

Cellino: 'PSG and Barca want Tonali'

Brescia patron Massimo Cellino has revealed Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona have tried to get Sandro Tonali: “He prefers Inter and Juventus.”

The midfielder has impressed in his first season among the Italian elite and the President has accepted that the 20-year-old is destined to move away from the Rondinelle this summer.
