Inzaghi hits back at Lotito & Klose

Simone Inzaghi tells Claudio Lotito “my work is there for all to see” and is out to “defy” Miroslav Klose after he doubted Lazio’s top-four hopes.

Lotito warned Lazio had to “repay” their larger salary bill and that Inzaghi had to achieve “better results”, despite the Coach delivering a Coppa Italia last season.

Badstuber: ‘Klose told me about Lazio’

Stuttgart defender Holger Badstuber could replace Stefan de Vrij at Lazio - “I’ve heard great things”.

The Biancocelesti will need a replacement for De Vrij, whose contract is expiring and is likely to join Inter.

Badstuber is a German international, but his career has been blighted by injury and he made just 18 Bundesliga appearances across his final four seasons at Bayern Munich.

However, a loan spell at Schalke 04 and a move to Stuttgart have reinvigorated him, and his next stop could be Serie A.

‘I’m Nani, not another Klose’

Nani has vowed to write his own legacy at Lazio after rejecting suggestions that he is ‘the new Miroslav Klose’.

Nani was a deadline-day arrival at Lazio last month, joining on loan from Valencia with an option to buy, although the winger is currently sidelined with a knee injury.

“The Coach has welcomed me very well and made a good impression on me,” he began at his official unveiling.

Klose: ‘Inzaghi doing great job’

Former Lazio striker Miroslav Klose says Simone Inzaghi “is doing a great job” with his former side.

The Biancocelesti finished fifth in 2016-17 to qualify for next season’s Europa League, and the former German international has been following their progress.

“Of course I still follow the team, I look out for their results,” Klose told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I’m in touch with some of my former teammates like Lucas [Biglia] and Senad [Lulic]. I’m always a fan.

Klose retires from football

Former Lazio striker Miroslav Klose has announced his retirement, and will take up a coaching role with the German national team.

The 38-year-old spent five seasons with the Biancocelesti, scoring 64 goals in 170 games and winning the Coppa Italia in 2013.

Klose also had successful spells with Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen, but is perhaps best known for his exploits with his country.

The striker hit 71 goals in 137 international caps, winning the World Cup in 2014 and becoming the top-scorer in the history of the competition.

Agent: 'Napoli like Giuseppe Rossi'

Giuseppe Rossi’s agent admits a move to Napoli in January is “possible, as we were very close to them in the past,” but Miroslav Klose is on stand-by.

The former Fiorentina, Villarreal and Levante striker made the move to Celta Vigo this summer and has scored two goals in six games.

Napoli are seeking a centre-forward in January, as Arkadiusz Milik has been ruled out for four to six months by a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.

Agent Federico Pastorello was speaking to Rai Sport last night about Napoli interest in Rossi.

Reja: Klose can replace Milik

Former Napoli boss Edy Reja believes Miroslav Klose has what it takes to replace the injured Arkadiusz Milik as the veteran “can still do important things”.

Klose has been touted as a short-term fix in the wake of Milik’s serious knee injury, which could keep him out for as long as six months, and Reja – an ex-Napoli and Lazio Coach – feels the unattached 38-year-old’s experience can go some way towards filling the void left by the Pole.

Klose to replace Milik at Napoli?

Ex-Lazio striker Miroslav Klose is the latest name in the list of possible replacements for Arkadiusz Milik at Napoli.

It was confirmed yesterday that the Partenopei were to lose Milik for six months after he ruptured his ACL whilst on international duty with Poland, and so far several names have been cited as potential stand-ins.

Corriere dello Sport have reported that Klose is also on that list, the 38-year-old without a club since leaving the Biancoceleste in the summer.
