Hamsik: ‘Scudetto still possible’

Napoli captain Marek Hamsik is still targeting the Scudetto - “the dream is possible”.

The Partenopei are three points behind defending champions Juventus, as they aim to secure their first League title since 1990.

“We’re hoping for a misstep from Juventus and to be ready to take advantage,” Hamsik said on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“The dream is possible. It will be a grand finale, the remaining games will be nine finals. The first is on Sunday against Genoa, we’re not looking to far ahead.

Midfield trident key for Napoli

If Slovakian captain Marek Hamsik and his Brazilian lieutenants Jorginho and Allan can maintain the form shown all year then the title may still be heading south, writes Paul Hill.

After a dominating performance and much needed win against Chievo, Napoli fans can again realistically dream of the Scudetto following a disastrous February. If these dreams are to become a reality however, the three men in the middle will need to stay fit, as they have slowly become just as essential as the club's attackers and solid back-line.
