Hamsik: 'Napoli can dream'

Marek Hamsik said Napoli “can certainly dream” of the Scudetto after beating Torino 2-1.

Lorenzo Insigne’s magnificent lob and a Hamsik strike secured the result to keep them one point off leaders Inter.

“Napoli are doing well in terms of results, but the performance could’ve been better tonight,” he told Mediaset Premium.

“I am happy above all for the victory and the goal, a gift to myself for my 300th Serie A appearance.

Sarri: ‘Sorry for Benitez’

Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri feels sorry for Rafa Benitez, and discusses the Scudetto race.

Benitez left the Partenopei for Real Madrid this summer, but was yesterday sacked and replaced by Zinedine Zidane on the Bernabeu bench.

“I feel sorry for Benitez,” Sarri admitted when asked about his predecessor ahead of the Torino game.

“He found himself in a difficult situation to manage, and has paid for it through no fault of his own. Zidane? Time will tell…”

Hamsik: 'My dreams for 2016'

Marek Hamsik has big plans for 2016. “I want to win the Scudetto with Napoli and star at Euro 2016 with Slovakia.”

The midfielder spoke to reporters in his homeland during the Christmas break, as the Partenopei resume training tomorrow.

“I have two objectives for 2016. I want to be a protagonist at Euro 2016 with Slovakia, while I’d like to make the Scudetto dream come true at Napoli.

Hamsik: ‘Napoli can win Scudetto’

Marek Hamsik believes Napoli can aim for the Scudetto this season - “we have the right team to make the fans dream”.

The Partenopei are currently just a point off the top of Serie A, and briefly held the lead after beating Inter at San Paolo.

“We have the right team to make the fans dream,” Hamsik told reporters in his native Slovakia, as reported by Corriere dello Sport.

Hamsik: ‘Sorry for penalty miss’

Marek Hamsik says Napoli “deserved” to beat Atalanta, but regrets missing a late penalty.

The Partenopei closed the gap at the top of the table to a point with a win in Bergamo, coupled with Inter’s defeat at home to Lazio.

“I think our victory was deserved,” Hamsik wrote on his official website.

“It’s a very important win. In the second half we created a lot and scored three goals, and at the end we were playing with a man down.

The Partenopei were pegged back 0-0 at the San Paolo this evening.

“We gave everything we had and deserved to win, the ball just didn’t want to go into the net. We should be satisfied with the performance and have to carry on like this,” Hamsik told Sky Sport Italia and Mediaset Premium.

Hamsik 'didn't expect this Napoli'
