Vidic ‘did not get on’ with Mancini

Nemanja Vidic admits he ‘did not have a great relationship’ with Roberto Mancini during his time at Inter.

The Serb arrived at San Siro on a free transfer from Manchester United in 2014 in what was widely regarded as an excellent piece of transfer business, but had his contract terminated by mutual consent at the end of last season.

The club was going through a lot of changes, in the same way as Manchester United were,” Vidic responded when asked why things had not gone to plan at San Siro.

Mancini: First half was good

Roberto Mancini was pleased with Inter’s first half performance despite their 6-1 hammering against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Nerazzurri were on level terms with the Premier League side until five minutes before half time, but then Erik Lamela put Spurs 2-1 ahead and the floodgates opened in the second half.

“Nobody likes to lose, especially 6-1, but aside from the result the first half was good,” Mancini said following the match in Oslo.

“From the 50th minute onwards we made too many mistakes and the result shows that.

Inter embarrassed by Spurs

Inter have suffered an embarrassing friendly defeat, going down 6-1 to Tottenham Hotspur.

It is Roberto Mancini’s side’s fourth loss of a pre-season where they have also been beaten by Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and CSKA Sofia.

Ivan Perisic cancelled out Harry Kane’s early penalty to level things up at 1-1 in the first half, but that was as good as it got for the Nerazzurri in Oslo.
