Inter lose in Chiasso

Inter were beaten 3-1 by Swiss second division side FC Chiasso in a friendly this evening.

The Nerazzurri were without a number of stars due to the international break, and fielded an experimental side for the match in the border town.

Coach Roberto Mancini initially opted for a back-three, with Danilo D’Ambrosio, Juan Jesus and Răzvan Popa.

However, the hosts took the lead on 24 minutes through Leonardo Malazzi, and Mancini switched to a back-four just 10 minutes later, dropping Alex Telles to left-back.

Questions remain for Inter

Inter have taken 16 points after seven games, but doubts still remain over the real quality of Roberto Mancini’s side, writes Varun Mathure.

It seems strange to be unsure about a team’s credentials that has made their best start to a season in six years, but that is where Roberto Mancini and Inter find themselves. After winning their first five games of the season, the last two games have shown weaknesses that some say were being papered over.

'Inter inferior to Juve, Roma'

Coach Alberto Zaccheroni explains how he would arrange Inter in a 4-2-3-1, in spite of their squad being 'inferior to Juve and Roma'.

In his last game against Sampdoria, Coach Roberto Mancini turned to the 4-2-3-1 in the second half to fix the game, and Zaccheroni believes that should be the way forward.

“Mancini has the right men for a 4-2-3-1,” said the former Japan Coach. “He has the wingers, one of them is [Ivan] Perisic.

Kovacic 'glad to leave Inter'

Mateo Kovacic admits he was “happy to leave Inter” and felt Roberto Mancini “didn’t want me in the squad.”

Inter faces Ljajic case?

Adem Ljajic's five minutes of playing time in Inter-Sampdoria could be a punishment for the player's lack of effort, say reports.

The young Serbian joined the Nerazzurri from Roma last summer but has seen very little playing time under Coach Roberto Mancini.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Mancini was sending the player a message by subbing him in last after Jonathan Biabiany and Rey Manaj.

Ljajic had been warming up, but he stopped the process to go chat with Marcelo Brozovic when he realised Manaj would take to the pitch before him.
