Mancini: 'Nothing has changed'

Roberto Mancini insists “nothing has changed” after Inter’s victory at Chievo, their best start in 13 years.

The Nerazzurri remain top of the table with a 100 per cent record after four rounds.

“It’s a nice sensation, but nothing has changed compared to a week ago. This was a very tough match in an arena where it’ll be difficult for everyone,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

Mancini: ‘Better teams than Inter’

Guarin: ‘Juventus still favourites’

Fredy Guarin insists Juventus ‘are favourites for the title’ despite Inter’s three wins from three.

The Bianconeri have taken just one point in Serie A so far, and as a result are eight points adrift of the Beneamata.

However, speaking at an Expo event, the Colombian midfielder insists the Old Lady are still the team to beat.

“Juventus are the champions of Italy,” Guarin reminded reporters.

“They are favourites for the title. We all know their ability and their ambitions.

Trap: ‘Sarri right for Napoli’

Giovanni Trapattoni is confident Maurizio Sarri is ‘the right choice for Napoli’.

The Coach arrived at San Paolo from Empoli this summer, but is yet to win a Serie A game, and has been criticised by club legend Diego Maradona.

“I’ve been following Sarri’s work in real time,” Trapattoni told TMW Magazine.

“In every situation where he’s been working he’s always built a side capable of quality football and getting results.

Agent: ‘Montoya not returning to Barça’

Martin Montoya’s agent insists the Inter full-back will not be returning to Barcelona in January.

The Spaniard joined the Nerazzurri on loan with an option to buy this summer, but has yet to feature this season, leading to speculation he could return to Camp Nou in January.

“It’s all nonsense,” Juan de Dios Carrasco insisted, speaking to Calciomercato.

“Montoya is adapating to Italian football, it’s different to Spanish football and Barça. He needs time to become an important player.

‘Scudetto not a fantasy for Inter’

Giovanni Trapattoni believes ‘it’s not absolute fantasy’ for Inter to target the Scudetto this season.

The 76-year-old won Serie A with the Nerazzurri in 1989, and though he doesn’t see them as favourites, the former Italy CT wouldn’t rule out the title this year.

“It’s not absolute fantasy to think about winning the League,” Trapattoni told FcInterNews.

Derby win shows Inter’s maturity

Inter’s 1-0 win over city rivals Milan in the Derby della Madonnina was an important sign of maturity from Roberto Mancini’s team, writes Varun Mathure.

It may not have been the most emphatic of derby wins for Inter, but their triumph over Milan on Sunday night was certainly one which tasted sweeter than many victories before. Not only did it maintain the team’s 100 per cent record to start the season, but it also was a hard-fought victory against their cross-city rivals.
