Joao Mario back for Napoli?

Inter are reportedly hopeful of having Joao Mario back for Saturday’s Serie A clash with Napol

Joao Mario missed the Derby della Madonnina against Milan with a muscle injury, but Gazzetta dello Sport claims “the objective is to have him at least on the bench at the San Paolo.”

However, the website warns “it’ll be impossible for him to start” at the weekend, so it is expected that Roberto Gagliardini and Matias Vecino will act as a double pivot in midfield, with Borja Valero playing in front of them.

Lorenzo Insigne was reassuring about his injury, but “we’ll see tomorrow” if he’s able to start for Napoli against Inter.

The forward limped off clutching his thigh during the 2-1 Champions League defeat to Manchester City this evening.

Coach Maurizio Sarri explained it was pain that grew in the adductor over time rather than a sudden tear, so hopes he has caught it in time to prevent serious damage.

The Lazio ‘keeper had to be on his toes from the start, first finger tipping a Khedira thunderbolt to safety then suffocating two Gonzalo Higuain efforts. However, it was in the last moment that he kept his very best for when saving Paolo Dybala’s penalty. Outstanding.
