Mazzola sees Inter victory

Sandro Mazzola feels the momentum is with Inter ahead of Saturday's potentially title-deciding Derby della Madonnina.

Inter are just two points behind League leaders Milan and can overtake their rivals with a victory at San Siro.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mazzola said: "Inter are favourites after the comeback and this is what worries me because of the old rule that the favourite doesn't win.

"It's a decisive game only if Inter don't win."

Leo proud to have chosen Inter

Leonardo insists he has no regrets about choosing to coach Inter after his past with Milan.

The Brazilian tactician surprised many by crossing the divide in December last year.

Speaking ahead of Saturday's potentially title-deciding Derby della Madonnina, Leonardo said: "The emotions are many, but they are my emotions and they are not the most important thing about this derby.

The Leo factor

Scott Fleming ponders how significant Leonardo's presence in the black and blue camp is for both clubs ahead of this Saturday's Derby della Madonnina

There will be 22 players on the field, around 80,000 fans in the stands and millions of viewers around the world. Yet it's hard to shake the feeling that this Saturday's Derby della Madonnina is all about one man – Leonardo.

Seven years since they last lifted the League trophy, Milan are finally in a position to break Inter's Scudetto stranglehold. How ironic it would be if they were thwarted by a man who was their employee as recently as last summer, who lived and breathed Milan for 13 years and scored a double for them in the derby in 1999.

Boateng: Inter are scared

Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng thinks that although Inter appear confident ahead of the Derby della Madonnina, they are probably scared.

The momentum is clearly with the Nerazzurri who can overtake their rivals at the top of Serie A with a win on Saturday evening.

"From the outside, it can seem that Inter have more enthusiasm, but maybe closed in the dressing room they're scared.

"Milan are in front and they will have to make more of an effort than us.

Shevchenko: Milan are favourites

Andriy Shevchenko has backed Milan to win Saturday's potentially title-deciding Derby della Madonnina against Inter at San Siro.

Milan have a two-point lead at the top of Serie A and a defeat would see Inter overtake them and gather yet more momentum ahead of the final seven games of the campaign.

Speaking to Sky Italia, Shevchenko said: "I think that it's a decisive game for the Scudetto. Both teams are looking to win it and I think that Milan can do it.

Diego Milito has declared himself fit to play in Saturday's potentially title-deciding Derby against Milan.

Inter can leapfrog Milan and take the lead in Serie A with a win at San Siro.

Speaking to Il Corriere della Sera, Milito said: "Now I'm fine. The injury has been overcome. We hope nothing more happens to me. I have worked well in the last 20 days.

"I am thinking about being ready to return. Leonardo needs to answer that question. He will judge. He will decide. There are three games to play between April 2 and 9. We'll see.

Moratti: 'Inter's 2006 title fully deserved'

Inter President Massimo Moratti was called to testify in today's Calciopoli investigation. “I maintain the 2006 Scudetto was fully deserved.”

The 2006 trial stripped Juventus of two titles, handing the 2005-06 edition to Inter by default.

Juve are preparing legal action to have them restored after a second Calciopoli trial, this time in the civil courts in Naples, presented evidence the Nerazzurri also called referees and designators.

Branca on 'Inter's transfer spark'

Technical director Marco Branca explains Inter's position on Lionel Messi, Alexis Sanchez and “when there's that transfer spark.”

Branca spoke to Inter Channel today on working behind the scenes in one of Italy's biggest clubs.

“A move begins when there's that transfer spark in terms of technique and personality. A player has to really impress us a great deal before he is taken into consideration. It means in recent years we've created a squad that can be appreciated as players and as men.

Only two points separate Milan and Inter at the top of the table going into Saturday night's San Siro showdown.

“Whoever wins the Milan derby gets very close to the Scudetto,” said Azzurri boss Prandelli.

“The victor will have a much better chance of taking the title, but right now their odds are 50-50.”
